Sonoff Switch For Pool Pump

Hi All.

Hope doing well. I would love to hook a Sonoff (With Relay if needed) to Put a schedule on our pool pump (Rated 0.75kW).

It will probably jump up to 3.75kW on start up if I am correct. I would love a sonoff with all the mod cons with timer / Wifi.

What can everyone suggest,

Sincerely

Jason

I use the Sonoff RF 7Amp switch for the pool . It can be used as a timer and switched by wifi or remotely . The pump is a Speckpool pump 0.75kw . The remote is very handy we doing pool maintenance . The Spec pump seem to have a low start up load . ICC and Inverter startup load reading 1200 watt.

I also have a POW R2 and I agree that connectors are a bit rubbish.

I flashedTasmota on it, was pretty simple and easy to do.

What are you using to control the POW R2 after flashing it?

An extractor fan that reads the battery temperature of my Pylons via Nodered/MQTT.

Ah ok but that's not what I meant. I mean the other side of the sonoff, how do you send messages to it?

Hi

I control my pool pump via home assistant and mqtt.

I added sonoff dual into the pump elec box. It controls the light and pump.

I also have a temp module in the weir that tells me water temp.

The pool pump works with sunrise and runs multiple times during the day.

I believe this is all you'll need. Bought from Communica fro my geysers2019-10-10.thumb.png.beeea0f774fba08ff00b95c24afa585f.png

Heya @Quat Allah Al Shams . Would you be able to provide the model number and brand of that unit you purchased with the sonoff. I would like to install the sonoff but I feel the inductive pool load will have its day with the poor sonoff.

Please do let know.

Sincerely

Jason

Hi Jack, you have done what I want to do for my first home automation project. I am interested to know what you used for the temperature monitoring? Mind sharing the components you used?

Hi all

I am also running my Swimming poolpump, my Borehole pump and my water pressure pump using Sonoff Pows and Home Assistant. I've designed some 3d printed brackets and din rail clips for  the Sonoffs so it can be mounted inside the DB but still be accessible, so if you have access to 3d printing this works well

Have a look here for more info:

Thats nice, 3d printing is something I want to be able to do in future as well. But since I don't have acces to a printer I just bought these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32971842029.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dbdnvmn

Did anyone end up installing a Sonoff R2 on a pool pump?

Yes. Mine has been running for for a few months now. Direct. Do like the water temp idea though, so might add that in the future.
