Chris Hobson
I see they are $99 on Amazon. He first says cost $45 and then $140 (which I presume is for the pair) so maths is not his strong suite but he certainly believes in a HA02. Interesting that he is able to confirm what is happening using SG readings.

Kawaman
Hi There, Just to add for anyone requiring HAO2 48v Battery Balancers (Equalizers) look here https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32970543602.html?spm=a2g0s.12269583.0.0.3d0821dd2F0Ge2
Crankshaft
Hi Checking my battery voltage this morning - I have a HA-02 balancer in circuit: 13.1 / 13.1 / 13.1 /13.3 Is a .2 volt difference within the operating specs of the HA-02? The balancer has been connected for 2 weeks now. New batteries. Used as a UPS, so they mostly sit on float - hence the lower than average storage voltage. Crankshaft
Another thing: Is is normal that the HA-02 emits a high-pitched sound? Sounds similar to a switched-mode PSU, just MUCH louder. My ears of quite sensitive, so not everyone may notice this.
Sidewinder
@Crankshaft, I must say I don't "hear" my HA-02's, maybe the bigger the imbalance, the harder they work, i.e. emit noise. or i'm going (high pitch tone) deaf, seeing the wife always tells me! As I have 8 Trojan's & a BMV, I only measure my midpoint, and after almost 3 years, it's still @ 55 mV. In your case it's 200 mV. Maybe it will quieten down, once your batteries are equalised better? phil.g00
@Crankshaft, No adult in my extended family can hear them, but all their kids under twenty can. They even say they are quite loud.
Gerlach
Mine made a high-pitched sound constantly till it went up in smoke. Like Badly. Got a amp pull/spike and took the hit because the battery didn't have all the supply to give. Just run a fuse on it on every channel that yours don't go up in smoke like mine. It takes day's to get rid of that smell.
DeepBass9
Both times I have connected HA02s on battery bank they have made that noise for a few days until the batteries come into balance. It tells you they are working!
Crankshaft
Surely the he HA-02 has been connected long enough to balance the batteries? The sound hasn't got any quieter since it was hooked up. Gerlach, yes, I have 10A automotive fuses on each line. It's the battery on the far negative side that is slightly up. It's only 200mV, but I was hoping it would be better.
DeepBass9
Maybe one of the batteries is faulty? (No one wants to hear that though!)
Crankshaft
I'll switch two of the the HA-02 circuits around and see if the 'problem' tracks the battery or the balancer.
phil.g00
Check your fuses as well.
Gnome
What are these things going for now? They are around $50 on Banggood and tempted to just buy it from there.
Dave Morley
Good afternoon I have 12 x 250 ah Gel batteries on a 48 volt Axpert 2 x 5Kv MKS parallel inverters with 6kw of solar. Currently i have a HA-02 on each of the three banks of batteries, what would the correct wiring of these batteries with balancer Victron are suggesting that you parallel the series bridging of the batteries would this improve the charging and balancing of batteries https://www.victronenergy.nl/upload/documents/Datasheet-Battery-Balancer-EN.pdf
Dollos1
Hi Guys could someone please clarify that i need to bridge the batteries as shown in the attached diagram for the ha02? and why can i not just connect 4 terminals to 4 batteries? newb here....thanks
