  • Once again Hubble have made changes to the riot, cannot view SOH as it has been removed again... @HubbleLithium, it comes across, that you are trying to keep your customers "blind" to a potential

Awesome! After 8 years of running this forum I have finally saved up to get a battery backup for now. It will be the sunsynk and the Hubble. I am going to definitely add the riot! In a few months when

  • Yeah, I was being overdramatic. Mine works, but is better served as a fridge magnet. One thing that was good, was the battery cycles... until they disabled it. I feel cheated out of the R2,500 that I

Anybody else running the RIOT with Hubble and Sunsynk?

When I connect the RIOT, the Sunsynk shows that no solar is being produced. Go back to Hubble directly connected to the Sunsynk, and all is well.

@Saliegh mine was installed yesterday(AM2 and the 5kW Sunsynk), also not smooth sailing. The installer used the serial cable to the Hubble AM2, but I'm only getting battery readings on the portal 😞, Have reached out to RIOT support as well

Hey @kellerza welcome to the club.

Unfortunately, our RIOTs do not yet support anything more than battery info with our current setup. The team has said that the SunSynk intergration is a work in progress. No timeline has been provided.

Mine is connected to rs232 port on the AM2, and with a LAN cable to the inverter, via the CANBus port.

I managed so solve my issue by plugging the RIOT into the AM2 1st, then into the inverter after a short delay, however, the reported data is not of much value

had the same issue, until i connected the RIOT to the internet, then the "solar production" went back to normal.

i was also under the impression that the SunSynk integration was completed, until i hooked it all up and saw it was not

Hi Hoohloc,

One of our technicians have responded to your ticket #280 at 13:43 today asking for your RIOT number so he can check. We are still waiting for you to response. Once we have it we can see what the problem is.

Hi, my RIOT number is 354, but the problem seems to have fixed it's self.

This device adds almost zero value to the whole solar system. If I knew about the Sunsynk Logger being launched I would not have bothered with this 3D printed POS.

I guess the only good thing about it is the remote firmware upgrades for the AM-2 batteries that I have incase issues occur. But at a cost of over R2k? Wires supplied are short as sh!t too. @HubbleLithium you guys really need to get your devs going with this thing or it's gonna be a magnetic paperweight for many.

+1..was promised months ago that they will fix the integration between the 5kw sunsynk and the riot, and haven't done so.

Actually they have removed features that were informative, like battery cycle count; individual battery SOH and voltages, etc..

Really beginning to loose trust in Hubble as a brand, after reading all the negative comments about them on this forum...

@HubbleLithium, when can we expect some fixes?

I was going to start ordering these batteries for customers ... maybe I should rather look at another brand.

Maybe BSL using solar assistant ?

I do like the batteries a lot and have not had issues since my install completed on 24 Dec 2021 so its not even a month now. Luckily no issues thus far on the battery. Reading quite a few issues for other users on this forum. The batteries that seem to do their due duty cycles is still Pylontech. They are in the same price range and there is years of usage data on them.

completely agree with this. The only value that it adds is SOH, which I am interested to know how it does that calculation.

It used to report on the battery cylces too... that seems to have been removed. Great job Hubble R&D team

I installed a new system in December 2021 with 2 x 5000 Pylontech batteries. Afterwards I noticed everyone making use of Hubble. Lately, I have seen a few negative comments of cells failing and batteries being exchange at a high rate, not to mention the cycle counter running in turbo mode. I know my system is still new, but I must say the values I get from those batteries looks like a mirror image.

I suppose we are paying to be part of the dev cycle, which I expected to happen as they were quite new when I bought.

I think they might have bit off more than they could manage, the AM-2 with wall mount installs so simply and its a nice package, and I suspect a lot of batteries went out fast.

however I have been extremely disappointed in the Riot, is can be and should have been so much better. But lack of communication, slow ticket responses ( frankly the ticket system is broken) and unpolished releases. RIOT is not looking good based on the feedback above.

I still can't see my SunSync data even though integration was done and I opened a ticket..

For me the best part about the RIOT was the ability to make sure the battery is behaving and healthy, now that's been removed too.

I use the solarman app more than my RIOT and that is telling.

I honestly think that someone with programing skills, provided he gets the BMS Modbus protocol can get all the necessary information from the battery. I'm not trying to brag I have a LBSA 5.1 KWh battery and I can get everything from my battery, program designed by my son. So it's about time they get someone to do a proper program.

@HubbleLithium, it comes across, that you are trying to keep your customers "blind" to a potential issue with your batteries. Is there another reason you are taking away features, that we customers use to monitor our systems that WE have paid for?

I had to reset my password for Hubble Cloudlink. The process went smoothly up to the email they sent with the link to verify my email address. The web page remains blank. I have asked Hubble support for help.  Only reply I get is: your ticket has been moved to Awaiting customer response.  WTF...I am waiting for Support response. All automated BS.

My solar system was taken into production in Aug 2021.
I have had zero issues with the Hubble and 5000ES Inverter combo.
Nearing 300 cycles and using Solar Assistant which provides all the essential data from the BMS. The Hubble is still reporting 110Ah capacity and is working as claimed by the manufacturer at the time.
My only gripe is that based on the reported Sunsynk Hubble combo issues by consumers, Hubble changed the BMS/Firmware and reduced the capacity from 110 to 105 A/h to try and solve their issues. So we have an attempt by them to address the mostly Sunsynk customers.
What does this mean for those of us that never had issues and now wish to parallel another AM-2?  Does my current perfectly working Battery have to get a Firmware change to match the new batches with reduced capacity or does Hubble consider the happy customers and provide me with another AM-2 that has the Firmware and BMS that my perfectly working AM-2 has?
Is Hubble prepared to make a public statement to this effect?
