I have a Pylontech US2000B and a Victron BMV-712. But I can’t seem to find the correct settings. The BMV always shows 100% so some of my settings are off. I don’t have the exact values I use at hand because the system is remote. So, any of you have a BMV hooked up to a Pylontech battery in that case what settings are you using on the BMV? Thanks

New to the forum and new to solar. I have been running a 48 V 3kVA Axpert in standby mode for some time and all was well. I have 4 royal 1150k (100Ah) deep cycle batteries installed but these are a few years old now. This powers all of my lighting (LED), entertainment, PC and communication requirements. It would easily run the load for 4 to 5 hours during power breaks and I was quite happy with that. I recently decided to add some PV panels and set things up to run from solar first, then battery and only when these were depleted would the system switch over to mains. I currently have 4XT105 batteries using a 3Kva 600w Axpert. I set up the bulk charge at 29.2V (Axpert max as guide said they need 29.6V), and float to be 27V. I have noticed quite a lot of bubbling spilling over onto the batteries. Any idea of changes to the settings i should make? (I have also just bought another 4 batteries to add into parallel and a 4th panel to help [4X300W] with early morning charging and better afternoon performance)

My DB is under my staircase behind a door. Can I put AGM batteries on the floor in the same area. I read somewhere batteries must be in a separated vented area, away from switches "Devices that could form a spark, such as overcurrent protective devices and isolators, shall be located outside of the battery enclosures" this is a problem for me

Need some 2nd opinions please. Like to know if anyone has a spreadsheet with the values for the various battery types. ADM, GEL, TUBULAR, FLOODED. I started a list but my system crashed and i lost this info. Hi All, I'm contemplating buying a Victron Battery Monitor, and need some advice: Where is the best place (ie best price) to buy? I see sustainable.co.za has them at R2,422.00 (the 700). I’d like to understand the 700 vs the 702 model. As I understand it, the 702 has an extra input that can be used for either a temperature probe, or mid-point monitoring. My question is whether it’s worth spending extra on the 702. Given that my batteries are in 8 strings of 4 batteries (48V), would the mid-point monitoring give any worthwhile information, as surely it would monitor the mid-point of only 1 string? Any suggestions as to a rack for 19" lithium batteries? 12U should be sufficient for me - I'm very unlikely to ever buy more than about 3 x 50 Ah batteries. I am currently only planning on buying one battery, so the extra space is for upgrade purposes. I'd like something on lockable wheels, it just makes working easier once you have a few batteries in. I don't mind strengthening the rails myself to carry the weight. If this thing had a door I'd have bought it (if deep enough), but a door is sort of important too - the cabinet will be inside the house and will be accessible to kids.

Hi everyone Given how new leoch batteries seem to be would it be correct to assume that Axpert ICC software doesn't yet handle soc monitoring like it can with pylons? And then assuming the above is correct, would a BMV do the trick?

I want to relplace my lead acid batteries with a Pylontech. I have 4x180 la battery in series. P=Ixv that means 8640W however the DOD is only to 44v . Uou can not use 8640w die tot the 80% DOD Now how does then relate Pylontech 2400 or3500w, how many Pylontech’s will be needed to replace my current lead acid?

HI, i need some help / advice please. i have a mecer /axpert 5kva inverter and had 4 x 100AH AGM batteries and all works well. i get around 4 hours on a +- 1100 load. i then got a lithium battery from a friend. Hauwei ESM-48100A1 . so the issue is i don't know exactly how to get the lithium to work properly. i connected it instead of the 4 x 100 AGM. i changed the inverter to user and not AGM. then changed the voltage and other specs.. i have tried various combinations but the issue i get is. The moment i switch off eskom and go onto batteries if i switch anything that pulls power like a air fryer or something, the inverter now dies. i.e. loss of power and …

I need help to set up my Mecer Inverter with a bank of two Pylontech US2000B batteries. Settings are: P2: 50A; P5: USE; P12: 48V; P13: 51V; P26: 53.2V; P27: 53.2V; P29: 47.5V Although the batteries are full, the Inverter "thinks" its empty. I understand that this older version of Mecer doesn't communicate correctly with US2000 B Pylontech batteries and that I need to use a special cable to get this right? Any ideas how to make such a cable? I tried to use the COM cable supplied as part of the cable kit without any success. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

I don't have space inside my garage / house for batteries... so they'll have to live outside in a box or enclosure of some sorts. The box can sit right next to the garage - hopefully keeping the cable run as short as possible. The enclosure will be in the sun for a part of the day. I was thinking of insulating the box, or using some kind of prefabricated insulated material. Also, adding a tiny roof over the box to keep the sun off it, and perhaps some shade cloth? Any thoughts on this?

Hi, So I am trying to get my system ready and have already gotten some pricing for stuff I need and was hoping to make do with what i already had on my batteries and inverter side, the issue i am seeing now is that a bank of my existing batteries (i have 2 banks, 1 is series 2 x 100AH and the other is 2 x 105AH, then the plan was to parallel them), i know it is not ideal to have a mix but they were existing and i beleive this is the better way to handle it. No, not for solar. I am gatvol of buying car batteries and them lasting 2 years and then dying. I don't drive so often so that is maybe part of the problem, but what is a good quality car battery that will last? These fitment places just fit the cheapest they can find, that sort of fits the spec. This is for a Landcruiser 4.2 diesel.

I currently have 4 x 12v 250AH Gel/AGM batteries that are now coming up on 4 years old and are not performing as they did when new (not really unexpected)... I'm running an Infinisolar 3kPlus and 2 arrays each with 8 x 250w panels. The load circuit on the inverter draws between 500w and 900w, depending on what is powered when, with an overall average of around 750w. I only use the batteries when grid power is unavailable and the PV is not producing enough to supply the load circuit. Hi All. I've noticed something I don't understand on my Pylontech batteries, when I'm charging them. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on it. I have 4 x 2.4Kwh pylontech batteries connected in parallel, connected to 2 x axpert 5kva 5kw inverters also connected in parallel. I have 28 x 280w (7840w) PV panels I"ve set the charging Amp rate at 50 Amps per inverter (Total of 100 Amps) I'm assuming that each of the 4 batteries share the amps at no more than 25 amps each. during sunlight hours they charge up very quickly, but then something strange happens when they get to a 89% SOC. Hi All I currently have an AXPERT 3000VA/2400W 24V Inverter installed. I had 4 x 90AH used batteries connected, but they are very tired. Inverter is used to power Fridge, TV, Amp, Fiber, PC and two LED Lights so I use about 500watt. This setup is only used to power some essentials during loadshedding and or any power failures, so I generally only require about 3 hours of uptime @ 500Watt. I was thinking about getting 2 x 200AH 12v batteries. My questions are, 1) What is a good brand / battery to get? 2) Where do I buy them? 3) Is this the correct route to follow? I have upgraded my system to a Goodwe 5048ES with 2 x 2.4kw lithium pylontech batteries. Question is, should i let the batteries cycle or can I just leave them as back-up in case of grid failure. Don't know what is best for lithiums. Currently I have the as back-up only (loadshedding and cable theft). I see the goodwe does do a small amount of floating (charge/discharge cycling) but not anything heavy. Your advice would be appreciated.
