Batteries

Needing some advice on a system a family member has installed. System is 2 x Sacolar 5kw inverters (Growatt SPF5000ES) with 4 x TheSunPays 4.8kw LiFePO4 batteries. Batteries were purchased in January 2023 with 750 cycles on them. For the last couple of months, the batteries have had sudden drops in SOC. In July 2024, one of the batteries suddenly dropped for 60% SOC to 15% SOC which can be seen here at the total SOC dropping from 59% to 47% just before 18:00 We contacted their support and upped the voltages which brought everything back into sync Since then, we continuously had problems of the batteries SOC dropping, again in July 2025 multiple times. Hey everyone, I had a US3000C, US2000 and US2000plus in parallel, and working well for some years. I now added 2x UP5000. I set all the dip switches to 0 (on new batteries - old ones were on 0 already). As far as I understand from the instruction manual, and from others that I have spoken to, this means the new UP5000 will be the master (I inserted the CAN cable into the newest one at the top of the stack). Yet, Solar Assistant is giving me the following error: Command failed, reconnecting in 15000ms (see the attached image). I also include an image of the wholes stack. Hi I have 2 paralel dey 12kW hybrid inverters. Also I have 5x V-TAC VT48200B (Vestwood). My common problem is if I need to charge and discharge batteries with 480A BMS give only 300A. I tried cha get cable, address in battery nothing works 😭 Can someone help. If I change to V steering it works. I need SOC mode.

Hi Guys My current setup is 1x Pylontech US3000 battery (SOH 87%, BMS Version 0), a Goodwe 5048D-ES inverter and 16x 400W solar panels. There appears to be a problem with how my inverter reads or measures my battery's SOC%, or how the BMS communicates it to the inverter. As an example, on 8 September I consistently used about 510W of my battery between 18:00 and 19:55. Between 18:15 to 19:40 the battery SOC% declined from 100% to 76% which is an average of 1% every 3.5 minutes. But then between 19:40 to 20:00, while still using only about 510W of battery power, my SOC% drops from 76% to 20% which is an average of 2.8% every minute even though the battery consumption re…

Living in the Free State (RSA), we regularly experience sub-zero temperatures over night during the winter. It is known that lithium batteries do not perform well when cold, and can be damaged if charged when below freezing temperature. My inverter and 2 x 10kWh LiFePO4 batteries are housed in my unheated garage, and I've been quite concerned that the batteries could become too cold to operate optimally. After some trawling of the internet, I concluded that it would be best to isolate them in a "box" of polystyrene sheeting, and to add two small (7W each) heating mats below the batteries to add a small amount of heat to this "box". Hi there all. 2 years ago we bough a house that had a 8kw DEYE inverter and 2 Hubble AM2 batteries. I also own a 5kw Kodak inverter and 2 LBSA batteries. I know the 2 batteries uses different technologies and charge at different rates and voltages so I cant just hook them all up together. The LBSA batteries are no1 5 years old and no2 around 3 years . LBSA changed their design between the 1st battery (the long black box) to a new version (more square with a digital display). Since new the 2 batteries of LBSA shows the same voltage but different SOC, I have emailed them and they say it is because they use different BMS controllers. I've seen one guy doing it via the console port, using a we mod D1 mini and some other add on. thinking same code that we use to monitor Sunsync via RS485 can be repurposed by specifying the correct addresses and defining measurement names as option #1, other idea.. how to write a program onto a raspberry pi zero, call the address and then package all values int a json payload. actually keen on trying this... if anyone has ? @scoobe3d @slipx G

Hey everyone, Where can I find the official list of protocols that need to be set on the growatt inverter for the different brands of batteries. I have 2 Narada 48NPFC100 100AH batteries and cannot find anywhere which protocol number to set on my new SPF5000ES inverter. A list for most battery brands will be great as I am planning to buy at least 1 battery from each brand to test them for an upcoming project. Dear Members, i really had a problem with Dowell batteries, all of them lose communication after deep discharge even when i charge them manually, it never wake up. So i need to get Software and Firmware, iPack C3.3 /6.5 . and the technicalupport doesen't have a professional help. i notified that same software with Growatt but not sure about updating files. Hi, I am posting this topic on behalf of a good friend who is questioning the discharge of his Hubble AM-5 batteries - he has a Deye 12kw 3-phase Inverter with 3 x Hubble AM-5 batteries with a total of ~15kwh (installed approx. 3-years ago). The Hubble AM-5 batteries are 1c batteries, so in theory he should be able to discharge at approx. 7kwh) Hopefully someone can provide some insights into why the below is happening/what is configured incorrectly. What's the best way to diagnose/repair this cell (green line) that does not want to come to the party. Its one of three Sunsynk batteries. I've been keeping them fully charged to try correct the unbalance. Is it worth removing the other two batteries and charging this on its own and then cycling? I noticed this because my batteries would force charge from the grid early in the morning and you can see the reason below when that cell voltage drops to 3V. My initial thoughts are it must be faulty and I have no choice but to book the battery in for repairs and wait the 6 weeks? You can see how the SOC rapidly dops and increases with the grid charge

I bought 2 X US3000 batteries, manufactured in 2019. The sticker clearly states they're a 3.55kWh battery, but when I look on Batteryview, it states they're only 50Ah batteries, so 2.4kWh, not the normal US3000 74Ah, 3.5kWh batteries. Does anybody else know if pylontech released a 50aH us3000 battery?

Hi Everyone, I am looking for some advice on how to check if my battery bank is performing to spec and what the best way is to check what the energy storage capacity of the batteries is. I am assuming that the daily inverter report for "Discharging Energy" is not the so much the capacity of the battery but more the amount of energy discharged from the battery that day and as such could include multiple charge/discharge cycles. I also assume that the number resets at 00:00 every night which is in the middle of the discharge cycles for that night. I have a bank of 3x Pylotech US3000 and 1x US 3000C 2 of the 3000's have 1450 cycles the third has 1250 cycles. The 3000C has 900 cycles. Can I safely add 1 US5000C to the bank - making a 5 battery bank. Is it better to add another 3000C I have added PV and current bank is fully charged by 13:00 Any help appreciated. Thanks Rob

Hi all. I just bought a MUST LP1600-24200 battery. Accorging to the manual, I can set the protocol in the settings on the screen, but when I go into "Para" I get "--Non production manufacturer can not use". I'm guessing there is some key-combo to get the battery into installer mode? Any ideas? This is to connect to my Growatt SPF-3000 Inverter. I'm guessing setting both to the same protocol will do the trick. Thanks

I am based in Joburg and would like the battery to be checked by Revov before I commit to the purchase. Inverter is the sun-12k-SG02LP1-EU-AM3 deye. (Modbus address 190, register type: holding). This should be the watt in/out of the battery. I filter all negative values (charge) so that I can see only discharge. Battery configured for BMS (dip switches 0010) and the inverter confirms dyness BMS.
