Hi Guys Just wondering 🙂, if I have batteries from two different manufacturers but both with PACE BMS's in them. Assuming they all have 16 cells in them etc. 1. Should the batteries communicate out the box (I know, is a tough question)? 2. If not, what about if I reflash them so they all have the same firmware and what sort of compatibility is there between PACE BMS's

Dear All I am writing to report a critical overvoltage issue in my solar energy storage system and request urgent technical assistance. System Configuration: Batteries: 4x PylonTech US5000 (parallel connection, CAN protocol). Inverter: Deye SUN-8K-SG01HP2-US-AM2. Communication: CAN/BMS protocol enabled, no explicit errors logged. Issue Description: During charging, the battery via grid voltage spiked to 56.94V, exceeding the US5000’s maximum safe limit (53.5V - 56.80). The Deye inverter halted charging automatically during the event. No communication errors or overcharge alerts were reported by the inverter. Troubleshooting Steps Taken: Verified inverter settings: Cha…

Afternoon all members! I installed a Deye 50kw Inverter on Friday, which I paired with 8x Dyness Hv51100 batteries and the BDU. I have readings on all the battery units and the combined voltages are correct at the series connected cables. The Communication between the BDU and Inverter is good, with the Inverter indicating the correct voltages, as received through communication from the BDU... My issue is, I do not get physical voltage readings at the BDU output ports? I can hear the relay click on when I switch the system on, but no readings. It also does not accept charge.. Am I missing something?

Good day looking for a bit of help here. Sorry if it has been asked before. ive got a kodak 5kw off grid inverter and 1 pylontech up5000 battery. just want to make sure my dip switch is correct. what should dip seitch setting be when using the up5000 with the kodak og5.48. and i will aslo be adding another battery in a month or so what should the changes in the settings be then. ive also noted that with the bms cable connected the batery charges at 53.2v and stays there on float aswell. No problems so far with the bms connection. Just want to make sure all is well these things are so bloody expensive dont wan…

I have added new batteries to an old Pylontech installation and upgraded the Installation to 2 parallel Sunsynk 8 KVA Inverters. I have 3 x US3000C, 3 x US 2000C and 4 x US 2000 B batteries that I would like to wire into 3 clusters to get the most discharge current out of them (The client didn't want to add anymore batteries than this, not my choice). My desired configuration for the maximum discharge capacity is having a US3000C as master of each cluster and then add a US2000C to each cluster and a US 2000 B to each cluster. 1 cluster will have an extra US 2000B. Do I need an LV Hub? When I wired the communications with a US3000C as the master and then wired link po…

In December 2020, I unfortunately fell victim to a lightning surge from the grid. Various items in my house was impacted. Thankfully my Axpert inverters(x2) survived with no issues, although the Raspberry Pi that runs ICC was effected, Pi booted but USB and network ports dead. My Pylontech bank(5 x US2000 Plus) was impacted as well. The communication ports(console, RS485, CAN etc) was impacted on all 5 Pylontech modules. Fortunately they were still charging and discharging normally but i could not get any info from them. I sent them back to the supplier to get a full report. The report stated that the CMU boards in all 5 modules had to be replaced and Pylontech warranty d…

Hi All I Bought a Svolt 48v 106ah 5.09kwh battery and Luxpower 5kw inverter around a month ago, Its was working fine until today, there was a planed maintenance from 8am to 4pm[eskom]. The dc output suddenly switch off around 11am with a load of 300w. Went to check what's happening and I saw the red alarm light on the svolt battery, noticed the voltage was low 42v while the battery soc value showed 81%. Now the power came back, the battery charged to 100%, but the voltage is still low 49v. So idk what actual wrong with battery or maybe is it the settings. Currently using the brand 2 setting on the Luxpower inverter. I would appreciate any help, thanks.

Hi, We have recently installed a pylon tech LV hub to our system, we have two 8kwh sunsynk inverters in parallel, then from the LV hub we have 3 clusters ( cluster one is made up from x1 US3000c x2 US2000c and x1 US2000 plus) (cluster two and three are the same and is made up of X1 US3000c x1 US2000C and x1 US2000plus) We are following the correct procedure with the data cable and the correct pin outs, we have also updated all firmware as, Yet, we are receiving a red light when we connect the clusters onto the LV hub, how can we check to what is going wrong? Please help

I have an issue where the battery goes from 50% to 10% in about 10 minutes when I use it. 468 cycles. I sent it in for repair, and they said they just needed to rebalance it. My other two batteries have a difference of 0.01V between the highest and lowest cells, but this battery has a difference of 0.15V. From my reading, this big a difference in V between the cells is a problem and points to problems. What is my recourse? Do I send it in again for rebalancing, or can I dictate that they either fix it by replacing the cells or that they replace it with a battery with the same cycle count? How do I enforce the 10-year warranty? Has anyone had issues with a sunsynk battery…

Good day, does anyone have experience in connecting different series Pylontech batteries? I was selling my existing 3 x US3000 batteries then found out that it is okay to mix different series batteries as per other posts and advice from a supplier. So I am going to buy two UP5000 or possibly two US3000C (which may be better idea, not sure). However I am still not convinced as the advice given was that I should put the one UP5000 as master (fine, happy with that) then the 3 x US3000, and last in the string the second UP5000 (which I am skeptical about). (And update firmware on all three US3000). I would have thought UP5000, UP5000, US3000, US3000, US3000 would have b…

Good day For one week now, since last Sunday, our Vestwood Lithium Battery 51.2 V 100Ah 5.12kW – VW-BAT-LITH-VT48100E battery gets to 100% in the day but from 6 pm when there is no solar discharges at a rate of 31 to 33% and hour. I noted after two days that there was suddenly an added demand on Eskom to support the house at night. 18.3kWh used over the last 6 day mostly when we are asleep averaging 3.66kWh per night. I did call the installer on Tuesday past and he responded on Thursday to advise they had looked at the data and the problem does not appear to be the battery. It appears to be the invertor and the BMS - I assume Battery Management System. He would need …

Hello Members Your assistance would be appreciated. I have a Deye 5kw inverter with a 5kw LBSA lithium battery and 6 X550w solar panels. For the past few months each time I switch on an appliance like a microwave or kettle even for less than a minute the battery drops from fully charged to around 6% instantly. This happens when there is no load shedding, very little other loads apart from a few LED lights. If not switching on an appliance like a kettle, the battery works as it should and discharges correctly as the house usually is drawing around 400w all the time. When we have outages the battery keeps going all night without any issues. The issue only arises when a kett…

Hi All, Can anyone perhaps shed some light on how an inverter (Axpert King in this case) determines what the battery capacity is in percentage? In my settings I have a "User Defined" battery and often find that during loadshedding the inverter starts falsely complaining about "low battery". According to the inverter the battery capacity is showing as 35%, while the actual SOC of the battery is 85% and the battery voltage is around 49 volts. Any idea how this works? Chris

I have a 5K Sunsynk and Greenrich U-P5000 battery as a UPS setup. Sometimes, rarely and inconsistently (Maybe once in 3 months or longer) I will hear a few beeps coming from the setup which stops and when I reach it I see the battery "restarting". Restarting being the lights acting the same as if I just switched on the battery. I do not know if the beeping comes from the inverter or battery. This happens only once at that specific moment and not again until some months later. There are no indications of errors on the Sunsynk screen. The SOH is 100%. I do not have montitoring software connected to it or even the Sunsynk dongle. The Greenrich manual does not seem to indicat…

Good morning power forum team Hope there is some way to investigate. I have a pylontech /sunsynk deployment that consists of: US3000 x 4 +- 3 years old UP5000 x 2 +- 9 months old I noticed in the last month that LED's on my batteries and SOC on the sunsynk don't seem to correlate(see photos of 22%SOC, with some not even shown an LED). Also a few evenings, a drastic drop in SOC charge percentage occurs even though a constant load is applied (which is odd, since typically 4 to 5% is lost This seems to have started after a grid-failure/ rainy weather combination where shutdown percentage was reached about a month ago (thank you brakfontein) I want to attempt balancing the …

I've been charging my Pylontech's on 52.4v but cycles now around 800 cycles and see that one cell (and overall SOC of applicable battery) is not aligned with the other ones anymore. First 4x = US3000C's , battery 5-8 = US2000 Plus series. Who has experience / guidance here - I've seen some activity where some users were looking for other cells. Would be great if someone can point me in a direction. Screenshot from ICM below.

Hello all. 5kw Sunsynk inverter, two Sunsynk 100ah L5.1 batteries in parallel. Inverter shows battery setting is Li BMS 14. Number 1 battery is working well, and number 2 not responding to discharge settings, and would drop till empty if I let it (no way of telling if it is over charging). Master no'1, and slave no'2 battery. I have tried no'2 master and no'1 as slave, but no'2 always has the same problem. Obviously a BMS problem. Q1) Does anyone know what make the BMS is? A Sunsynk / Deye own manufacture? Q2) Saying the bms is totally dead, how hard will this be to change it to another more common bms make? Q3) And will the Sunsynk SG01LP1EU 5kw inverter recognize…

I got my Durathon Battery (Sodium Nickel Chloride) 276Ah battery cells to 40°C and the battery is no longer warm. There is no output through the BMS. If l remove the BMS and measure the voltage using the terminals straight from the main battery l get 54.5V. Any one who knows how l can heat my cells again to get the BMS working.

Morning all! Happy New Year!! I'm new on the forum and have recently upgraded my system from just a battery back up (Synapse 5kw inverter and 4 x 100AH lead acid batteries) to PV with a Greenrich 5KW battery using old Synapse inverter. This system has it's limitations but serves my needs for now. The question I have is, where/how can I dispose of the old batteries? I'm in the Randburg area of Joburg. Battery Centre Selby offered me R100/battery which seems quite low considering they're 30kg each.
