Hi All, Would anyone perhaps know the idle consumption of a Sunsynk 5 kW inverter, if it were to be set up in an off-grid installation (PV with batteries only)? For context, I am planning a system which will initially be off-grid, but then may well become integrated with the grid at a later point. As a result, I am looking at one of the combination inverter/AC charger/MPPT units (and not just a discrete MPPT and inverter setup). Since the initial generation will only come from PV (the larger loads will be scheduled for during periods of peak PV production) I would like to minimise the energy consumption when running on just the batteries (i.e. in the evenings, w…

I have a Axpert 5kv 48v inverter set up with 3strings of 405w PV panels connected in parallel(74v). System worked fine with 100ah 4,8kw lithium ion battery for a long time. Added same make 7800kw 150ah battery in parallel. System is running fine during day with sunshine but when no PV available unit switches over to utility (+-20sec ). Lightning struck my system and one inverted was damaged beyond repair. I obtained a new one from Mustek. They promised to ensure that the new one will have the same version of software on it as my other two (71.70). However, after my installer put the new one back in it does not communicate with the other two. It's software version number is 71.80 They said that they will send me the software but I am looking for a description of the steps one takes to upgrade the software. Thanks Johann

After 4 months of following up with City Power, they finally came on Friday to downgrade me from 3 phase post-paid, to single phase prepaid. I have an Axpert 7.2kW MAX unit installed: For some reason, when running in SBU mode (completely on solar and battery), the system is still using roughly 1kWh per day. According to ICC, I haven't used any grid power. If I switch the mains breaker off, forcing the inverter to be completely disconnected from the mains, no mains power is used. Does anyone know if the inverter draws a continuous small amount of power in order to keep it synchronised with the mains?

I have an Imeon 3.6 inverter which I am upgrading to work with Pylontech US3000 lithium batteries. Imeon sent me the firmware/software updates for both the inverter and IMA-Box which I have just purchased. The firmware updates (DSP:17-04-26:17,30 and MCU:17-04-26,17:30) for the inverter and OS One update (v1.7.8.2) for the IMA-Box installed with no problems. I then connected the batteries (two in parallel with the link connection) to the IMA-Box using the CAN sockets. All Dip switches on the batteries are down (off). Hi. After a whole day of fault finding, turns out my axpert is somehow giving me a earthing voltage. With no input or output wires connected. I measure 80-100vac from earth to negative on both ac input and output terminals on the inverter. Surely this is not correct? My earth leakage doesn't pick it up, but does trip occasionally/frequently. Any advise is appreciated. Pete

We had an imeon inverter, 12 solar panels and 4 stride batteries fitted end 2015 by a business called WP Solar in Cape Town- owner Arjan Smit. Arjan Smit has now left SA and is living in Holland and of course does not and will not honour his 5 year warranty. Hi all I have a system with 2 X Axpert inverters in parallel. One of the inverters MPPT has popped. I would like to purchase a new unit and have the faulty unit sent of repairs. Unfortunately Inverter and Solar warehouse no longer sells this kind of inverter. Does anybody know if the SMD LynX 5000-48 AxpertKS-MKS-4K-5K (my one) is compatible with the MECER 5KVA/5KW PF1 64V CHARGER/ 48V DC Mecer. I can get one from CShop.co.za for R9000. Good day what causes the Mecer 5kVA/5kW to cut off solar midday. Is there a setting am missing. my option 1 is Sol. I want a situation whereby during the day we use solar for loads and to charge the battery and only use eskom at night or when solar is not enough. thanks. Inverter is detecting my Pv voltage = 89V.

What is the life expectancy of a Mecer SOL-I-AX-3MPlus48 Inverter/Charger? Am I correct that it is considered a string inverter? Someone else installed it in 2016, well ventilated and inside a home, but no regular maintenance - considering an upgrade.

Hi All, I'm currently planning a solar install and have been trawling through the forums - amazing the amount of knowledge available here. What remains a bit of a mystery for me is how much to put on LOAD and how much to leave GRID side. From what I understand everything on GRID side goes offline during loadshedding with this inverter, and the inverter will only supply the LOAD output with energy stored in either the batteries or available from PV. My thinking is currently to put the main house DB on LOAD and remove the Geyser, Outbuildings and Oven from the main DB. So that basically all the circuits/plugs/lights on the house's main DB is always available…

Hi all, In my first 3 days of production I realised that the grid power readings are understated - according to the inveter it is an average of 4.8kWh per day, while my prepaid meter would suggest something like 11 or 12 units per day. I was hoping I could use the inveter to verify my municipal meter, but as it is I cannot do that. Currently I have the stove (correctly) and a part of the house (incorrectly) wired as non-essential - all of this demand goes unrecorded by the inverter. Hi all, Can someone explain what I need to change? My inverter is pulling from the grid when I have "limit to load only" unticked but when I tick "limit to load only" it starts pulling from the PV and only pulls the grid trickle feed from the grid Ticking and unticking priority load didn't have an influence, doesn't look like altering settings on the timer did either. Any advice? (btw this is a new install and I don't have much confidence in the installers knowledge of how Sunsynk's work)

Hi everyone, I have an issue when I upgraded my Axpert MCU to 2.49. I did this to install the firmware that will allow me to use the "Li b" selection in the battery type. The remote display is now blank. I did loose cooms for a few times but then clicked on "Update MCU" until the upgrade was done. After that, blank display. Can someone please give me some advice?

Good day everyone I recently purchased the Mercer sol-i-ax-3m plus 24 inverter with 2 12v deep cycle batteries (105ah) in series (it is a 24v inverter). So far everything works well. I was wondering if I can connect 2 additional batteries (2 in series for 24v, and then another 2 in parallel) so I can run for longer on battery power? Do I have to get a BMS if I want to do this because in my mind all batteries will get charged to the same voltage, but what if a battery is damaged and it cannot charge to the correct voltage? Perhaps I am overthinking this but I figured it will be better to ask someone with way more experience than me before I pull the trigger …

Apologies if asked prior, but could not find the answer on google or on the forum. What is the difference between the Growatt TL and ES models? Does the Growatt wifi app allow you to make changes to the inverter, e.g. sbu to sub or is it only a monitoring app? Thanks

Good evening all i have a quick question in regarding the combo above. both inverter and batteries have been working fine since June this year. suddenly it give a error 19-batt connection open. i have had the batteries back to the supplier with them reporting no issues. Supplier says its the firmware on the inverter? Can this be? And if so why did it work fine and only now they have issues? any help would be highly appreciated regards

Hi to everybody. Few days ago my inverter lost communication with online server, it´s not available on Sems Portal. It is property connected to my LAN, i can access to the configuration server, but i can´t access to the inverter with PVMaster App. PVMaster can find the inverter but it can´t receive any data. I changed IP on inverter as prevention of IP conflict but no changes. Now i can´t get data with PVMaster or on SemsPortal, any ideas? Thanks in advance. (and sorry my poor english)
