Inverters

Off Grid & Grid Tie inverters

  1. Started by MartinKoch,

My inverter and system tripped, when restarting there was a burning smell and error code 9, inverter will be sent in for repairs, my question is what will cause the problem. For instance intermitted load due to ironing, frequent switch of parameter 01 between uti and sbu daily to charge batteries 7 o clock in the evening in order to have enough charge for morning activities? Shorter charging time than in the morning, or what else

  2. Started by CM21,

I just woke up this morning and noticed the inverter was in bypass because the Solar array wasnt charging the battery and upon closer inspection i realised there was no power coming from the Solar array. The array has always been working fine. I tested one or two panels and they individually have voltage. I have tried restarting the system but no solar being recongised by the inverter. I am a bit stuck and dont know what to do. I am using a Kodak 3kw off grid inverter, 6 x 330watts solar panels connected in series and a UP2500 battery. So the whole day today i have been on grid, no solar.

Hi everyone, Can somebody help me where can I find Firmware "F2809_GW500.07_20191227_B." Instead I have found F2809_GW500.09_20201029_A.bin. I do not think it can work for SPF 5000TH HVM model. regards,

👋 Hello everyone In Axpert off-grid inverters When we select SBU in And on number 16 choice select SOS And AC power connect to inverter Bypass will not work coz there PV and battery.... If PV not enough to load the inverter will take from battery If battery become empty or as 12-13 choices The bypass will work Q: Can merge Utility with PV without bypass...... And can use the inverter to stabilize the AC power....

Hi friends, newbie here and 1st post. I bought a Deye 8kw hybrid inverter and installed it next to existing 5 kw Zeversolar grid tied inverter. I will install an ATS auto switch to isolate the grid when their is a grid power failure. I will wire the grid tie inverter output to Deye inverter input and use the Deye grid to the grid terminal. Questions: will the Deye energize the grid thru its battery or solar panels or thru the grid tied inverter. I am in a compound here and the grid is spread out with pool pump and well pump in different locations so i want to re energize the grid after power failure and isolate the utility with the ATS.

Hi Gurus of the Solarworld, I recently had a 8kw Deye inverter, 7kw Panels and 10 Kwh batteries installed. As luck would have it I haven't had a good sun day yet. That said, it managed to charge the the batteries to fill or nearly full every day. The installer did not install the CT coil in the right place even after repeatedly telling him that it wasn't. It only measures essential loads. Low and behold, he is coming back to fix it as I still owe him some money. To my actual question. I found bits and bobs around the Solarman Smart app and local mode. If I configure it to local mode does it mean I loose the cloud monitoring or can both be active at the s…

  8. Hi Everyone, I'm currently using a Deye 8k hybrid inverter. In our area, we frequently experience low grid voltage (brownouts) which cause the inverters to shut down. I was hoping to adjust the inverter settings to help solve this issue. Can anyone tell me what limits I can safely use for Grid High and Grid Low voltages? The factory settings are as follows: Grid Vol High - 265 volts Grid Vol Low - 185 volts Thank you!

  9. I installed Turner Morris 13kVa (0.8 power factor) run-silent petrol generator 18 months ago and finally made the "upgrade" to a SunSynk 8kVa inverter with a Freedom Won 10 battery and 12 x 450w panels to find out the generator will not work. The issue came in when I tried to plug the generator into the inverter which kept on tripping. The installer showed me that the generator was not pushing out 50Hz but seemed to be between 46Hz and 52Hz which was out of spec from what the inverter could accept. Long story short, my generator will NOT work and will need to be replaced. Now the big question - what to replace it with? My requirements are summarised below: …

Hi there, just a question please. During charging the batteries from utility (not always), my input voltage and output voltage drops to 182v AC sometimes to 174v ( from 230v). This affects both my inverters due to input voltage to low. I thought fault is from City Power because I had problems before. But the laid a new cable, and the problem is still there. I do have 5KVA Mecer Inverter with 16 100AH batteries. Any ideas why?

Could anybody please assist? Recently I had a Deye inverter installed. During the day when my battery is full and my power generation exceeds my demand, my inverter still pulls from the grid. During the day it could be 5 unit; which adds up at the end of the month. Is there any way to prevent pulling from the grid?

I installed a KODAK MKSIII (OGX5.48A) Inverter. With AC charging selection, I get a AC icon (ONLY) on the led display, not a AC & AC/DC with arrows like the user manual indicates. With solar (PV) input, I do not get ANY indication on the led display. So with other words I can not charge my 3X PYLONTECH 3.5KWH at all. With my old inverter RCT 5KVA/4000W it worked 100%. I took the Kodak back to the place I bought it. The have tested it & change my setting(13- to 51v) and told me it would work now, but I have still the same issue. My batteries are at 64% capacity. I have 8x 405w Canadian solar panels.

Hi all, So I've got a King 5K (5kw) inverter which has been updated to the latest factory firmware. But I've noticed that the inverter doesn't want to switch from Solar/Utility/Battery back to Solar/Battery/Utility. The only way is the disconnect the mains supply to the inverter instead. Not sure if I am missing anything? Battery bank. Pylontech with the inverter connect with the BMS

  20. Hi all, I had tried to perform "Clear Data Logger Log" now my Data Logger cant re-connect to the Growatt server. so do we have solution to restore/repair this issues ? I'm happy to get any suggestion from you. thanks & Regards

  21. Hi All I have an 8kw Sunsynk inverter. During the day my loads get pretty heavy due to the geyser running, dishwasher etc etc usually about 6kw, my inverter trips out from time to time, usually when my staff turn on the 5kw on demand water heater and I am running heavy loads. I am wondering if there are any settings I can change on the inverter to rather pull power from Eskom instead of overloading the inverter? I am going to reduce the size of my geyser elements to 2kw but will still be pushing it. Sunsynk 8kw 24 x 455w JA Mono 2 x 6.2 Kwh Bull Battery

Good day to all, I have 2 X 5000 ES growatt installed, I've noticed that at night when my system changes over to mains the two inverters are still pulling +_ 1,7 amps from the battery. I understand that there would be some power consumption from the two inverters, but I'm surprised that the two inverters consume that much power. Does anybody else have the same experience?

  23. Started by Super_mil,

It seems I'm just not having any luck with there Axpert Inverters . I have 2 x 5kVa interters in parallel. Running 71.50 firmware on both. Details of the install are here: https://powerforum.co.za/topic/3359-midlands-off-grid-installation/ I've had an ongoing problem with the inverters consistantly over-charging (i.e. <54v) the Pylontech batteries. Fortunately the batteries BMS system kicks in at 54v and stops further charging. Alarm light comes on, on the batteries and the voltage drops off. The inverters do not keep hitting them with the higher voltage once the 54v max is reached once in a cycle. I initially set the inverters to the va…

Hi Guys I have installed 2 x SPF 5000ES Growatt inverters (parallel) 5kWp solar array on each and 3 x Shoto 5.1kWh Life Po4 batteries. The battery BMS is not connected to the inverter I setup the battery setting (parameter #5 to US2 for Li Batteries without BMS connected. I also setup the inverter as SBU so I can maximise savings on my Utility Bill. however during the day the load is powered from the Sol as soon as the sun go down, the inverter does not switch over to battery it switches to Utility. I need the inverter setup to be Solar first then Battery and if batter voltage is down to 46V i need it to go on utility. If someone can please help.

  25. I have noticed something in the SunSynk installation manual which I cannot find being discussed anywhere previously. On page 23, under the recommendation for a Surge Protector, there is an MCB on the earth wire of the surge protector. Why is that necessary? What are the reasons behind it and what rating that MCB needs to be? See attached picture below:
