User @maxo sent me a schematic trace for an Axpert MKS 5K-48 (= PIP-4048MS, Mecer MKS 5K etc) back in July 2020, for me to check. I've since been sending him changes to make, and it's now up to revision 10. Maxo seems to be too busy to make the last few changes, so I made them myself and published it. A huge thanks to Maxo for all the work that I know goes into this. If you find errors or places where it could be improved, please reply to this post, preferably in the next 30 days when I have a free trial of some DWG editing software. As usual, I like to publish the actual file(s) in only one place, and that's here: https://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.…

Hey Guys.... I need help. 10X330Wp 5kw Sunsynk(CT coil) 2x3.5kw Pylontech Lithium pack. The unit is running perfect on the UPS output without AC present. The moment you introduce AC. The Output Earth Leakage trips. I have separated the neutrals(Eskom and Inverter) and we having this issue. Eskom loads and Inverter loads have earth Leakage.

I recently saw this video on youtube which I don't agree with. I'm going to post it here so that it can be debated in public. 1) Incorrect: The Axpert inverter can only use battery voltage, not state of charge (SOC). The battery in the video looks like a PylonTech lithium battery. Historically Axperts couldn't read the SOC, but this has been added, example: https://www.enway.co.za/axpert-pylontech-communication-cable-rj45-rs485-bms 2) The whole premise of the video seems to be that with the Axpert you need a separate grid tie inverter to have a proper setup. This logic is flawed, the reason is different for the various Axperts: Axpert king: There is a Sol…

I have installed a power consumption meter between the DB and the inverted to measure the Evkom consumption to the inverter. (5kw inverter). Albeit small, I have a consistent supply from the grid to the inverter even if the solar power generation is in excess of the load. E.g. Solar generation would be 1800w and the load 800w with power from the grid varying between 20w and 100w dependant on the charge state of the battery. I have noted that the fuller the battery, the lower the grid consumption, however never zero although having lots of excess solar power. Please can you assist with an explanation as to why there is always a small Evkom power usage? Is this norma…

Hi all. I have installed a 5kw syn sync inverter in March, was working perfectly fine apart from a high pitch buzzing noise. Sent it back, they replaced the board, buzzing was still exactly the same but then my a/c current was reading far below the actual. I rerouted the CT clamp wiring to run completely independently from the other wiring and this fixed the problem. Last weekend, when load shedding hit again, my battery ran low and shut down. The inverter wouldn't switch on, I did a factory reset and ever since then, my a/c current is not being measured. Has anyone experienced something like this? Any advice would really be much appreciated. Regards Munsoor

Hi all, Hope someone can assist me with the factory password for the software settings. I need to adjust the grid frequency upper limit threshold as my Inverter sometimes disconnects from the grid due to exceeding the frequency upper limit. Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone can anyone help me with this, why is my inverter (Axpert King 5KW) using the batteries to power loads when there is sufficient solar and utility (Eskom) power available? i have looked at the settings and as far as possible i set it to not use the batteries unless solar and eskom is zero. Am i missing something here??

Greetings to the brain trust - I have a question to ask pertaining to a particular unit that has been operating reliably for a number of years at my parents home. Of recent the output of the unit went intermittent (repeatedly goes on/off) with it in bypass mode. I have taken it out of service and handed it into Rectron at their service centre. They have subsequently reverted back indicating that they did some work on the unit main PCB and am unable to get the unit output to turn on. It also shows an error code '6' (have not seen this in the manual before). RCT is now wanting to replace the unit main PCB at a cost of R5000. Whilst the cost is roughly half the cost of…

Good day to all, I'm new to solar and recently had a solar power system installed. I have 2 x Infinisolar Super 4 KW inverters, 4 x Pylontech US3000 LiItheum batteries. There are 24 x 320W PV panels mounted on my roof in 2 arrays of 12 each connected to each inverter. I have 2 PI's running the latest ICC software connected to each inverter and configured by ICC remotely. The installer and I have checked to ensure that the parallel communication cables and current sharing cables are installed correct. To this end we have studied the manuals and this and other forums to make sure that the installation is 100% correct. My problem is that the Slave inverter runs at …

Hi Everyone, Mecer 5kva inverter does not pick up the battery. Had lightning and high surge damaged the board. Mecer says it is going to cost R7000 to replace the MAIN PCB ASSY V II 5K (same as 31-550264-05G/31- 550264-01G) This is almost a new inverter Any suggestion on how to fix this for cheaper Thanks Deon

Greetings Braintrust - I'd be curious to hear your comments on the Axpert Max (8kW version) - from a build perspective - to the smaller units, It is cut above the 3kVA and 5kVA units and seems to be a professional and neat solution. It is the first time that I've seen the Watchpower app in operation via the built-in Wifi module - does anyone know if the app can send out alerts/notifications (for example when utility AC fails and the unit operates on batteries - as well as any other alarm/functional issues). Any other comments (positive/negative) on the unit would be greatly valued! Vaughan

Hello Powermites I'm Kavish - I joined once upon a time to learn more about backup power and from time to time tend to search here and learn something. It's by far the most informative place on the net. After searching quite a bit, I wanted to ask for help on something - WatchPower settings. I have an Axpert 5Kva inverter and 4x 240Ha OmniPower batteries. I've adjusted the cycle, float, etc according to what the OmniPower battery states and wanted to know if I have overlooked anything. I adjusted the settings using WatchPower and not on the inverter itself. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to using those buttons in the inverter. I'd be…

I have 2 X 5000 ES, I've noticed that the output voltage is slightly different. See image bellow. Also noticed that once we started load shedding the output frequency is more stable, it looks like if there is mains my systems runs on the mains frequency We are currently running on my batteries due to load shedding Could this be a problem? maybe they have different firmware versions. See pic.

Good day everyone, I am building a UPS / backup type of system for a office or two. It is mainly for loadshedding and power outages. Maximum power usage is 2000w and must last for the 2.5hrs loadshedding. It is a few PC 's and test equipment. What I have in mind is: KODAK King 5kw and 2x Pylontech US3000C batteries Peak power would be 3.5kw (limited by Pylontech's 0.5C which is still above the 2000w requirement) Backup duration would be 2.8hrs if run down to 20% Recharge time would be 2.5hrs if run completely down (60A AC charge which is below the maximum for 2x US3000C's) Any other suggestions or…

Good day fella's! Please assist. i have an off grid site with a 25kw 3p generator with a key start. Client does not want to pay for a full PLC system. is there a reliable cheap alternative, to use logic timed relays? We will only be using one phase to feed the inverter. this is out of my field. Kind regards

I will try to be as articulate at possible. I have a 3kva five star invertor, connected to 2 200ah batteries in series and 2 330w panels. Yesterday I was away and something must have happened and now the invertor, when the battery depletes(I run a small fridge, load always 0W except on startup which pulls 170ishW usually lasts overnight but weather has been bad over the past few days) 1. won't go on standby mode, it keeps powering up, then down, repeatedly every 5 seconds or so even when I turn it off. 2. It won't show that the solar panels are charging, but they are charging the batteries cause today I used it, there is just no arrow showing from panel ico…

I would like to know if there is a setting on my Sunsynk 5kw inverter where I can “activate” my non-essential loads during loadshedding to use my panels/batteries? Say for instance on a very hot day, during loadshedding, I want to run my aircon, is there a way around the non-essential side? Thanks

Hi, I wanted to use a Rasberry PI 4 and connect to my Axpert VP 1K/1000W inverter for basic monitoring My invert has the following communication ports on the side (attached pic) Which do I need to use for monitoring? Or can I use either one? I received a serial to ethernet cable (attached pic) with the inverter which I assume I could connect to the ethernet port and then use a serial to USB converter to connect to my Rasberry PI? Otherwise can I use a standard printer USB cable (attached pic) to plug into the USB port and directly into the PI? Thanks very much for all your help. I am very new to inverters Regards, Mar…

I am curious, who else runs a grid tie inverter on the input or output of a normal inverter. Not talking hybrids here, rather a Micro grid setup. Are doing poll’s allowed on here?

Hi people, I've run into an issue with my Axpert King 3K. I use it with a Pylontech UP2500. It's a 24V system. I don't have solar, I use it purely as an UPS for now. It has been running without issues for many months. Yesterday I wanted to plug a drill into a plug powered by the inverter, so as a precautionary measure I switched the change over switch on my DB to power from mains while I use the drill, since it might have overloaded the inverter. So during that time there was no load on the inverter. When done I switched the change over back to the inverter, which immediately added +-50% load. For some reason this caused the inverter to reboot, and since then I'…

Hi, im new to this forum and this is my first post :-). I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this: Currently i'm running 3 Voltronic Axpert MKS 5000W (Pf1) 48V with 80A (145V DC max MPPT), in a 3 phase system. I would like to replace the inverters step by step, as soon as one inverter goes faulty, with the newer version MKS II with 450V DC Max Mppt. I know they say the the firmware needs to be the same for the inverters to work in paralell. But is this actually true? I was wondering if someone managed to combine the old and new axperts in a working 3 phase system. As the inverters are pretty much identical besides the solar charger input voltage and each inve…
