Inverters

Off Grid & Grid Tie inverters

  1. Started by Buyeye,

Hi everyone June was a terrible month for solar, July started to improve and August I'm producing almost twice the amount I was able to produce in June. This is due to living in the beautiful forest that I live in, my panels face north but there are a bunch of palm trees on the street which don't belong to me. The shadows only become an issue around 14h00 instead of all day like they were in June. So I was expecting that I would see around 80% of the installed 6kw of panels which would be enough to power the load and charge the batteries. But the inverter reduces the pv power to match the load which doesn't make sense to me since the reason I got it was th…

I have 3x 7.2kw inverters in three phase but every now and again it stop using the solar arry and the batteries when the output priority is set to SBU The panels is 5kw per inverter and the load is no more then 3kw at a time I have 12 x us3000c in parallel that supplies the Inverters that is 21kw of power @ 0.5C Can you assist

Goodday i have a high voltage mppt kodak inverter and want to know why when i change the settings to: charge priority: Solar first Output priority: Utility my inverter give me max watts and amps and my Lithium battery charge via solar only is excellent but when i change the output priority to :SBU the inverter stop charging the battery and only supply your output need i do not understand

  4. Good day, how are you? We are experiencing a challenge with one of our installations consisting of a 5kva Growatt SPF-5000 and Pylontech US3000 lithium-ion battery, the inverter is failing to bring in the utility to charge the battery when its voltage drops. May you kindly assist us on how we may rectify this...

Hi All If someone has a similar setup, please can you assist. At 80% DOD , what is the remaining battery voltage? Also, after upgrading the firmware on the inverter to E419 - 3162 and the hubble's to v1.42, it still does not display SOH on the LIBMS page. Anyone else experience this?

I have shown my setup - what happens if load shedding kicks in with these settings? Will the inverter only allow battery to discharge to the set min ? Should I turn off the use timer when load shedding is planned? another question - I have my CT coil installed - if load shedding and zero watts coming from grid, will inverter still send to non-essential circuit or does it know to only supply essential circuit ?

Hi, I installed an Energy meter onto my Infinisolar, but it does not seem to be throttling the inverter’s PV production. I followed all instructions as per the manuals, but as most of you probably know, the manuals aren’t always that clear... Maybe somebody can assist with proper instructions and fault finding ideas please? Thank you.

  9. A strange thing happened to my Axpert, it’s burning rs232 cards when ever i plug serial to computer What could be the problem with the inverter

  10. Hey all, Hope ya'll are well? This is pretty much a via via via installation question, hope someone can assist. We, middleman, supplied a Installer 3 x 7.2kW Axpert Inverters, each one in their own phase, connected to a bank of 6 x 6kW LIs via buzzbar, charging from 3 x 9-530w Panels (27). Now I know generally there is a 10 millisecond change over time, but this lot really has a picnic when changing over, 2 seconds, full restart. Any ideas on what could be the reason for the extended delay with the change over? Unfortunately original supplier is not being of much assistance Really looking forward to your ideas and suggestions. TIA

Good day everyone I have been running into bit of a issue with old failing power units(kettles and power supplies) that has damaged my growatt spf5000es that is brand new due to short circuits from them damaging the inverters what can i use on my db. to protect each inverter from exceeding the rated current i do have a circuits barker on that is lower rated then the inverters but that drops to slow and the inverters gets damaged before it falls. I really need help in this regard as I don't want to lose more units due to this.

  16. Hi Looking for some advice on a Victron System. A friend of mine has 4 x LG Chem Lithium-Ion 60.8V 16S 2.6kw/hr batteries, that come from an EV car project. He would like to use them with his Victron Phoenix 48V 3000W inverter if possible. The batteries don't have any BMS and we have been looking at using a Daly 60A Smart BMS with CANBUS connection. Has anyone had any experience with using a DALY BMS with Victron, not sure if I need to be aware of anything? Also, any issues with using the Lithium Ion 60.8V batteries with the Victron? https://www.banggood.com/DALY-BMS-16S-60V-30A-40A-50A-60A-3_7V-18650-Li-ion-Lithium-Protection-Bo…

Have the pool pump hooked up to AUX port, system works perfectly and switches on for the first tim when the batteries reach the target SOC and pv production for that day, if the Smart Load shuts down due to SOC or pv production dropping below limit due to clouds, etc. and THEN even if the pv and SOC conditions are met again, Smart Load DOES NOT switch on , it has to be kick started by switching on a load like eg a kettle for a short time. Any feedback to this

  18. Good day all, I have a scenario where the inverter does not fully charge the batteries, even though there is sufficient PV output. For example we had an extended power failure earlier in the week with the Wapadrand substation out of action, and when running in off grid mode the batteries are at 100% around about 14h00, sometimes earlier depending on load. However, when connected to the grid, the inverter drops the PV output to match the load with the result that the batteries never reach 100%. Which configuration setting/mode can be changed to ensure the batteries are fully charged, and grid usage is minimized. See SEMS graphs from off grid and on grid. As usual Good…

If one only uses Sunsynk to control battery for load shedding (no solar yet) then how should one configure the system mode? Just untick “use timer” or “tick timer” and set all to 100% with grid charge ticked?

  24. I have 11 x 330w solar panels connected in series to one of the MPPT controllers on the Axpert AXMAX8K48V inverter. My battery is a 1 x Pylontech US3000C. I have noticed that my battery will discharge to a minimum of 65% is that correct?. The Output Source Priority is set to SBU and the Charging Source Priority is set to Solar First (can someone please explain to me what this means). The battery type is set to Pylon. My questions are: 1. What settings do I have to change to ensure that my battery is close to 100% prior to load shedding. 2. If I split the 11 x 330w solar panels to be 2 strings of 6 panels each connected to the 2 MPPT controllers will …

I am new to this fantastic forum and having recenlty upgraded my years' old solar installation to a more intelligent system, I decided to join to get insights from fellow solar junkies and am seriously impressed by the generous sharing of information here. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I was unable to find a related thread on this forum. I have the Axpert MKS II (5kW) inverter (Mecer brand). This is the one which can take PV voltage up to 450v, thus allowing thinner cables between PV and Inverter. So ... I decided to do a firmware upgrede to the Patched 73.00c found here http://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=67551#p67551 in order to better tune the…
