Good morning fellow members. I am new at this so please excuse my ignorance. In November 2019 I had a Voltex 5kva 48A inverter installed with 4 X 100ah 12v Batteries. All worked well and in December 2020 it started flashing an Error 04 when there was load shedding and it would shut down in a few minutes, even when we switched off everything in the house and it was only drawing 50w. After begging the installers for 7 months to test the batteries they eventually came out and found the batteries were weak. 2 weeks ago they replaced the batteries with a brand new set of the same spec. That evening as load shedding started the exact same thing happened agai…

Hi guys, we just installed an ongrid system 5 kW with a growatt 5000tlx inverter. The supplier also recommended an Eastron sm230 smart meter to limit export. We followed this video for installation When we activate export limit on the inverter, not only does export stop, but also the PV energy production. Has anyone any tips what could be wrong? We have installed 4 growatt inverters before, so we are pretty sure we have done that part of the installation correct. Its the first time we install a Eastron smart meter. Thanks so much for any help guys!

Hi everyone, sounds like a great forum, will contribute where I can, but for now I have a few questions for the Deye/Sunsynk people. After some research I came up with a system and dived in. v1.0 installed a few days ago. Unfortunately I have 3 phase to my house, so have one inverter per phase, all sharing one 10kw battery, and so far only solar on 2 of the 3 inverters. 3 x Deye Sun-5k inverters 1 x Freedom Won 10/8 10kw battery 2 x strings of 5 panels each(JA Solar 540W Mono) WI-FI on each working and connected to solarman Entire db board on inverter load except for one main geyser that I put directly on Eskom. …

G'Day all, Just need a bit of advice please. Off grid, stand alone Solar, 12 x 260 Ah batteries wired to 48v. I've got an 8600 watt generator which I start up once a month just as part of routine maintenance. Never hooked it up to the inverter as the PV input has been more than sufficient for our daily needs and to maintain the SOC of the battery at about 80% This system has been running since November 2019 to the point where it's almost boring, PV in AC out, it just works We're in winter here in South Australia and the last few weeks the weather has not been conducive for good solar input so the battery has copped a pounding, I'm using a 48v…

I notice when grid is disconnected and reconnected the Changeover is seemingly delayed so much so that the Sony AVR and sometimes DSTV Explora and fibre router notice and reboot. I have surge protected extension codes which also notice the surge. The fridge in the kitchen also notices. I have raised this on the Victron forum too but I thought perhaps someone else in good odd Afrika might be experiencing this. The lights don't flicker at all. Led bulbs seem to rolerate a very wide voltage range as low as 90V so understandable why they don't care! The images show the voltage drop over 3 seconds from 220-230V when grid disconnects the voltage drops to as low as 104 and recov…

Hi, hoping someone can help me setup my Daly BMS with my 24V Mecer (Axpert) inverter/solar charger (SOL-I-AX-3MPLUS24). I bought this last week, but didn't come with any documentation other than a very basic connection diagram: https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za/collections/diy-kit/products/24v-200ah-8s-daly-smart-100a-bms-lifepo4-lithium-iron-phosphate-diy-kit-new-a-grade-cells To start with I plan to take the batteries, check their voltages and pair up the ones with the closest voltages (since it's 2p8s). I've found some good videos on youtube on connecting up the batteries to the Daly BMS, so I don't think I'll have any issues there. Since this is the smart ver…

Hi. Help or direction will be greatly appreciated. I have the above-mentioned inverter and it has been running flawlessly for about 26 months. After load-shedding (or possibly before - not sure) I realised that the grid voltage/frequency on the inverter (I can see it through ICC solar) was 0/0. Also on the display panel on the inverter there is no grid icon. It is if the grid is not there, although I measured the voltage and there is grid supply. Maybe something failed inside the inverter? Fuse or something? Any ideas or should I disconnect and take to Mecer for repairs?

Good day, Can anyone please help and tell me how to setup my 5KW Growatt inverter to use solar more efficiently and directly to cover the load. At the moment the Panels are only charging the Pylon-tech battery and then using the battery to cover the load. I've attached a picture of what that looks like. I would like the PV array to cover the load first and then make use of the battery to cover any shortfall. Current settings are: 1. SBU. 5. Li (L02) 12. 50% 13. 95% 14. OSO Thanks Joe.

I see there is a new version of the MKS by Voltronic. Anyone running this? What's your experience been like? I'm in the process of upgrading my VMIII 3kw to a 5kw and am deciding whether to go VMIII again or MKSIII. Price difference is about R3000 and as far as I can see the only difference is being able to parallel? That's not necessary for me, but I wonder if the overall build quality is better. I remember reading that the MKS units had PWM fans vs On/Off for VMIII? Anything else?

I made screen shots of the graphs a long time ago and called up the same date on the portal recently. The graphs seem to be slightly different now with some power usage instances showing between 1-2kW more than it was then. Anyone else also experience high loads on the graphs which are incorrect?

Hi guys, Is there anyone on here that applies settings using server.growatt.com? Unfortunately I have found that the Growatt has limitations and some of the settings dont do what they are supposed to do. This means sometimes i need to manually set the growatt to prepare for load shedding if it is at an unideal time. My inverter is set to SOL for the Ac Output Source, but when i open the web interface and click on settings, it shows Uti priority. My charging time was set to 2105. which i changed now back to 0000, but on the web interface it still shows 2105. I am wondering if there is a large delay when changing settings on the inverter, to it…

I just bought this inverter with two new pylontech UP2500 batteries (24v eac). The inverter is connected to a generator and solar panels which produce around 140V and 25Amp. I´ve set the SUB in program 1, pylontech in program 5 and program 16 in SNU . As I understand the manual more changes in setting. this is off grid system. Problem is that the inverter doesnt charge the batteries. It recognizes the volt on the generator and with the PV it reflects V and Amp. but if i go the menu of charging batteries: nothing. the light of charging is flashing but it doesnt charge anything in the batteries. However yesterday with the generator and the PV i put the inv…

I installed myself system connected to the grid and batteries, I see many days by mid day with plenty of sun the batteries are full and the load is connecting to them, by the evening they get low and charged by the grid, is there a setting to avoid the load to change to the batteries as long as there is power from the solar panels. Thanks

Hey all! So I am wanting to get a solar setup as my electricity usage is quite high and it is hard to justify paying Eskom a large portion of money each month when I could go solar and reduce my Eskom bill significantly and have power for the essentials during load shedding or power outages. I would look at installing the solar system towards the end of the year, so I am now wanting to do some research and get a better understanding of how everything works, what are good brands and so forth. I am looking at 8KW to 10KW for an inverter, the house is single phase so any 3 phase inverters are out of the question. I would like an inverter whi…

Hi Everyone. I have three x IFS V2 "5kw" hybrid inverters connected in parallel and setup to support 3 phase equipment and one inverter in a phase. Each inverter has its own string of panels hooked up as recommended. There's no batteries connected to the system currently. The problem I'm experiencing is that everyday at roughly 17H00 the inverters trip and give error codes, and I don't know why or what's the cause. The first inverter connected to phase 1 shows error code 80 "Can fault". Inverter two connected to phase 2 and three connected to phase 3 shows error code 52 "Bus voltage is too low". I've measured the Utility input voltages on each ph…
