Hi there all Been lurking around on the forum for a while. Found it to be very informative and very relevant to the subject on generating our own electricity. I have started my solar journey a few years back with only a "UPS" system. Since then changed out batteries and inverter and added solar panels. I however have a challenge with my solar system (more detail on system further down) that I just can’t pin point the real culprit to it acting the way it does. I trust there is someone out there that can assist to get this sorted. It does the following: During daytime when the solar panels produce energy, the invert…

Hi I am seriously looking at installing a Sunsynk 5 kw Sunsynk inverter at home. The problem is I don't know where to install it. I don't really have anywhere outside I could install it, that is not in direct sun/weather or close to the house. So basically I have the kitchen, it is quite a big kitchen so would be able to install behind the kitchen door, but I am worried about the fan noise. The only other option is a bedroom which we have converted into a games/play room. If I mount it on the wall it is about 4m from the kitchen DB through the ceiling. I have a big built in cupboard in this room and could mount it in there and maybe add an extractor fan, this would b…

Hi im trying to connect the BMS between my Growatt 5kw inverter and lithium ion battery ive done the following steps 1. switch off inverter input and output so its only running on battery 2. went into inverter setting and changed setting 5 to "Li" and then it takes me to setting 36 which i set to (Li02) 3. switched off inverter + battery completely and set dip switches on battery to (1 0 0 0) (on off off off) 4. connected RJ45 cable to BMS on the inverter and RJ45 port next to the can port on battery 5. Switched on battery and switched on inverter inverter now shows the small Li logo next to the battery and some of the setting on the in…

Hi Guys New to the forum, have someone on this forum perhaps tested the Axpert vs Growatt inverter and which one do you think is better. I only have installed Axperts so far, but have a friend that recommends the Growatt for better performance. Looking forward to your opinions

Hi Folks, I would just like to inquire I have a 5kw freedom battery and I would like to set it up to charge during the day, and then to power the house in the evenings until the battery falls to 60 percent leaving 40 percent for load shedding. Then I only want the battery to charge again from the sun the next morning. Is this possible if so what settings must I change in the system mode page and the battery setup pages. Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have downloaded the data log from my 3kw Axpert VMIII to a USB stick but can't understand the format. Some of the columns look like they could be battery voltage but the rest I have no idea. There are no obvious time stamps or dates either. Anyone know how to interpret or make use of these logs?

Hi all, I just noticed something that has me puzzled. The non backed-up circuits in my house are basically a sub-DB in the out buildings. So when the grid goes down we lose the pool pump, the outbuildings (hence washing machine and tumble drier) and we lose our second geyser. The sub-db is fed via a single 32A circuit breaker on the main DB. The 2nd geyser has it's own breaker and a timer switch on the sub-DB. So in a moment of boredom recently I turned on the 2nd geyser to see what sort of load it pulled. This was on a sunny day with the batteries fully charged and PV derated. The load shut up from a few hundred watts to over 5Kw. Yikes! So I let it run a…

Hi All A newbie here so looking for some advice from the more experienced guys. I will be totally off grid, so not grid tied as I understand it. Requiring about 15-16kw per day. I have been proposed a 7.2kw Axpert inverter, 2 x 100ah 48v Narada batteries and 16 x 325w Can-Sol PV panels. Question: Is the 7.2kw Axpert inverter my best option for this load and system set up? I have heard maybe not the best option inverter. Any advice appreciated. Regards Limpopoboy

Assisting a friend, his MECER HYBRID 5kVA / 5kW Inverter Charger | SOL-I-AX-5P keeps on going into Battery mode during normal daytime with good sunshine conditions. He has a two Narada 48NPFC100 batteries connected. His solar panels are 6 x 535 Watts panels connected in 2S 3P. With the setting 1 at SBU the unit should not go into Battery Mode with good solar conditions. (or SOL for that matter) I have looked at setting 13 "Setting Voltage point back to battery mode when selecting "SBU priority or "Solar First" as the probable culprit. This is a battery voltage setting which is confusing to me as I do not understand the role/function of this setting for activatin…

Any ideas.... Installed this inverter new out of the box. On startup with pylontechs all is well... Solar is off. Batteries communicating. Once you turn on the line voltage you get a F08 fault... Bus voltage too high... And the inverter shuts down.. Measured at 247.5v. Techi at rectron said i must return unit. Has anyone had a similar fault on commissioning?

Hello I have 2 King inverters connected in parallel and set to SUB. But in the evenings when i lose PV and the batteries are fully charged, the master inverter still charge the battery at 10 A and the slave inverter uses 12 A battery power. Is there some settings that I don't have right, or what should I do?

Hi All I trust that you are all well. I have the following questions regarding the Axpert King, Axpert MKS and Kodak King inverters. A] With the Axpert King inverters in parallel and a couple of Lithium batteries in parallel how do you connect the communication cable from the batteries to the inverter so that the BMS can report the capacity back to the inverter? B] Do you get lithium batteries which communicate via RS232 so that Axpert MKS inverters in parallel can communicate with the BMS of the batteries in parallel? C] If I want to use the Kodak King in parallel where do I buy the parallel communications boards required or are the parallel comm…

I replaced the MPPT card of one of my parallel Axpert 5kVa inverters yesterday (with a brand new card). Due to the fact that it was not charging from solar. But after the restart this morning it is still the same. Can the Raspberry Pi cause this? Or what else can cause this?

Morning All, Hope you all well? A client of ours just called asking advise on his clients 2 Victron Multiplus 5000 inverters connected in parellel which are not reading the panels. Unfortunately, I am not the brains of our operation, my hubby is and I cant get hold of him, no signal. Best time to learn. Could anyone possibly advise why the inverters wouldnt be picking up the panels? I swear, im not a blonde (haha) but would be great to see if i could assist somehow. Thanks.

Hi, I have a new MPP Solar PIP5048GK inverter and a new Pylontech US2000C battery. The battery and inverter communicate with each other using a data cable. I need advice on how to fix error / warning 69 on the inverter that occurs when the battery is charged. The inverter evaluates this as error 69 when the battery says it is full. Does anyone have advice? Thanks

The components inside one of my Axpert inverters is covered with dust with a stickiness which came from a fan which I directed to blow into the side intake of the inverter. The fan's bearings made a noise and I sprayed a bit of oil on the areas leading to the bearings. Unfortunately some of this oil got blown over time in a very limited amount into the inverter and is the reason for this stickiness which the dust clings to. Can I remove this sticky dust with methylated spirits or an electronic aerosol cleaner using a small paint brush to brush it and a vacuum cleaner to suck it up. A piece of cloth to wipe it clean can generate static electricity which can be prob…
