I have a 3KW RCT VMIII, which I connect to a Raspberry Pi via USB cable to monitor it, using software that I wrote myself (https://github.com/bmharper/homepower). This software monitors the inverter's reported load, and uses that information to flip a set of contactors in my house, to either let heavy loads run from grid, or from the inverter. This way I can have more than 3KW devices potentially connected to the inverter, but the "heavy" ones go back to grid, if the inverter is unable to power them. The "essential" circuits always remain connected to the inverter. This setup has been working 100% for over a year, which is how long I've had it. The program queri…

Afternoon I need some clarification on the connection sequence on an 8kW Sunsunk inverter without a battery for a grid tied system In the Youtube Sunsunk video it states that the grid connection is both input and output and nothing should be connected to the load Is that correct? Thanks

What I'm looking for is the quietest 2.4Kw-3Kw Pure sine wave inverter charger 24V, any suggestions. I had the Mecer 12V/720W with the new intelegent fan that was more than perfect with noise, just not pure sinewave. The Synapse 2KW Inverter/Charger makes a lot Fan noise every two hours and at charging times.

I just purchased a brand new Axpert MEX Series 1.5kVA 12v inverter (branded Mecer) it's producing power but if I put a load on it and scroll down the screen I see 0A 0W 0VA on the inverter. It's strange because on my digital clamp meter reading that measures DC current I get around 7.2A discharge from the battery. Is this normal for this inverter?

Hi All Recently installed 2xPylontech batteries (2.4 plus 2.4) - previous lead acids were fried. All works perfectly but once batteries read 100% the system seems to rapidly alternate between drawing off the battery and then REcharging to 100%. This is no good for the system or battery. (Or me - frying lead acids left their mark) I attach screenshots of the symptoms and my current settings. It is a setting problem. Somehow it does not float once charged.

I have a new 3kva 24v inverter.reading through this forum,i am pretty sure that all the settings are correct.I only use it to power during load shedding a DSTV explorer,2x routers,1xflatscreen tv and maybe a 5w led light. The display when selected show in total less than 25% load in fact 175 watt with 6A discharging current,i use 2x 12v /120ah gel batteries(new) in series. My problem is it only supply power for 1 hour then code 4 comes on that means low battery power. And yes i have measured it with my multimeter and the batteries indeed measure =cut-off- voltage 21V .I have tested it with just the decoder and 2x routers on with tv off and no 5watt led light, just 1 hour and …

Hey guys, I'm an installer and have done more than 50 installations with Mecer, Kodak, Phocos Anygrid, RCT, Growatt etc. Yesterday I installed the RCT 3kVA 48V inverter from Rectron in Midrand, and to my surprise the inverter burst on switching on the ON/OFF switch. The inverter was installed with Dyness 3.6kWh 48V battery. Anyone envountered the same problem before? Thanks in advance

Good day, I want to setup a grid tie solar system with a phase 2 backup with victron multiplus 2. Long term in trying to achieve what is described here: https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/Energy_Storage_System/en/ess-introduction---features.html now there is lots of talk about fronious and SMA grid tie inverters which are extremely expensive in SA. My question, is there anyway to use a SOLS or any other grid tie brand for that matter, with the multipus 2 inverter to achieve the same results? I saw a small statement somehwere that you can buy the victron POWER meter, and put that between the grid tie and the multi plus, then that power meter will talk…

Hi everyone I am very new to this forum as well as solar installations. I just had an installation done at home with two inverters in parallel (KODAK Solar Off-Grid Inverter MAX 7.2kW 48V) with four 2.4KW PlyonTech Batteries. I have a question regarding the communication to the batteries, only one inverter has a comms cable (RJ45) that goes to the batteries. The result is that one inverter knows the exact capacity of the batteries at a certain time, say 97% fully charged while the other inverter thinks the batteries are only 23% charged for example. Can both inverters be connected to communicate to the batteries and if so, how? Attached are some p…

Greetings I have recently been gifted an Axpert 5KVA inverter from my dad. I have added a Shoto 4.8Kw lithium pack to it (hope to add solar panels soon). Previously I had an Axpert 3Kva with 4x 12v AGM batteries as my load shedding backup (running the lights, security, Internet etc). The previous setup with the 3KVA only ever put fans on softy during load shedding and a bit louder when the power was back and it was charging the AGM batteries. When I hooked up the the 5KVA and Shoto lithium battery on Sunday, it seems to be running fans all the time. For setting the parameters of the battery, I used one of the last posts in this thread as a guide. D…

I just dont seem to get my head around the relationships between Energy/ month Used Purchased On Grid Generation How do they jive? Used seems obvious as well as Generation But then we have Power/ day Current Purchased On Grid Grid where current seems to be production and grid power seems to be total effect on the grid used being positive and negative being feed back 🤔🤔

I may be on the wrong forum for this and it's probably been answered before anyway, but I searched (probably with the wrong key words) and didn't find anything. I have a new 720W Ellies "plug 'n play" inverter. It's set up the way I understand it should be set up - it's plugged into the power supply and then everything we want powered during loadshedding is plugged into the inverter. There are two numbers on the display: "load (VA)" and "output (VOLT)". When one particular device is being used, it shows about 150VA under "load". When the device is not being used, it drops back down to zero. None of the other connected devices do this. Why would there be a load on the…

Hi all i don’t know why but inverter shuts down literally at just over 40 min (every time for last couple of load shedding while load is around 225Watts in the period constantly, so not that much load I think, I have 2 12v 100ah AGM batteries linked to system, strange thing is when the system shuts down the victron bmv702 still shows battery capacity at 97% please help not sure why this is happening

Hi All Not sure if this post should be in Inverters or Batteries...none the less. Ive had a 5.5kw Hubble battery paired with my SunSynk 5.5 inverter Ive noticed that the battery charges to 100% and back down to 99% constantly and then back up to 100 again, every couple of minutes. Battery is a week old now, and its been doing this ever since ive purchased it. Im not running any "Timers". Is this behavior normal? Here are my settings.. Please advise...
