My Kodak inverter WMIII 5Kw 48v will not charge my battery from generator unless the inverter is switched off, while suppling power Via battery or PV's it shows generator is running but does not supply power to AC or charge battery. Basically I'm running the generator for nothing, tried all different settings given by tech but no change. Any ideas appreciated.

Good day, I want to setup a grid tie solar system with a phase 2 backup with victron multiplus 2. Long term in trying to achieve what is described here: https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/Energy_Storage_System/en/ess-introduction---features.html now there is lots of talk about fronious and SMA grid tie inverters which are extremely expensive in SA. My question, is there anyway to use a SOLS or any other grid tie brand for that matter, with the multipus 2 inverter to achieve the same results? I saw a small statement somehwere that you can buy the victron POWER meter, and put that between the grid tie and the multi plus, then that power meter will talk…

I installed a Axpert 5 kVA Mk II inverter and have a problem with the output frequency, which shows to be 40 Hz + 1. There is no setting to address this. The alarm also beeps continuously but the red alarm light does not show. The center top of the display shows H5. Can anyone help to correct this situation. The rest of the solar power installation seems to work very well, with batteries charging and utility being off, the load feeds off the system.

I attempted to upgrade my 5KVA (4kW) Mecer with the patched firmware. I discovered an old USB to serial adapter in my stuff. Windows could not recognize it properly (something to do with counterfeit chipset or the sort from some net reading) but I got a driver fix and the thing was recognized. I am running Win10. However, after the about 30sec wait after clicking on update I got an error that Serial Port failed to open. This is despite the display showing that the port was opened. Is my adapter too ancient to work or maybe its a known issue? I tried different COM ports same result. I will try to get my hands on a more modern adapter and see what happens.

Hi all I recently upgraded my inverter to Voltronics off grid VMIII model and added a pylontech battery. I already have 6x 335watts panels connected in series to both charge the battery and power the loads. Grid is used as a last backup on days of bad weather. What i have noticed is that during the day, Inverter is drawing from batteries instead of solar panels. output priorty is set as SBU. I have tried to change to SUB but still the inverter prioritises utility to power loads even when Solar power is availale. Is there anyway of working around this?

Hi Someone advised me to connect 3 strings of 4 panels each in series then parallel. my inverter fault (13) comes on. Is this the incorrect way to wire up. Fault is there even when i unplug two strings? what is recommended to wire up the panels on this inverter? Current set up 12 x 335watt panels 48 volt battery set up.

Good day all, I have a voltex 12v 1kVa inverter that seems fully functional except the battery is not being charged while mains is available. The negative wire from the secondary winding of the charging circuit was loose and could have made contact with the PV +ve terminal (See circled lug in attached picture) There does not seem to be a soft start psu,even if there was,it would appear to be working as the LCD shows normal display with a flashing green charge LED(not sure if that is normal) Fault LED not lit. I have an off grid solar system with VMIII: 16 x 340W solar panels (North-West) - 2 strings of 8 panels each 4 x US3000 Pylontech I am missing out on some good sun in the early morning, which I want to capture as follows: Add another US3000 to the existing VMIII Add another VMIII or King with solar panels connected from the rooftop which gets son in the early morning. This new VMIII or King would then have its AC output permanently wired to the grid input of the existing VMIII which would be set to charge from utility and solar. I recently purchased 3 x180w panels and a12V / 40A mppt controller from a supplier who assured my that exerything was compatable. I did the install myself. I knew the mppt was limited to 100v input. Wired the panels in series, connected the panels to mppt and was shocked to see 120v input and immediately disconnected the panels. Sadly mppt was tested and was reported as blown. Is it possible to repair the mppt ? Who would be to blame as I was assured that the panels and mppt were compatable ?

I have a solar-battery system and pure sinewave inverter which runs basic lights ie. led tubes. I find that the led lights flicker even when turned off (inverter is working with a minor load). Appreciate any advice, thanks. SJ

Hi, I have a VMIII and I need to update the removable screen firmware to a version that supports "LiB". This is according to the supplier what is required for the VMIII to communicate with Giter batteries. I see "LiB" has been remove in the latest removable screen firmware. My firmware is however old. U1: 41.14 U2: 02.40 (Can I update this to 02.49, using the below while keeping U1: 41.14) U3: 00.24 Is it possible to flash the removable screen with a USB cable only or do you need RJ45 serial? @Coulomb

Hi. I have a Quattro with MPPT 150/85s, CCGX and BMV702. When I was using other equipment (Voltronic Axperts) I fed all generation and usage statistics to pvoutput.org which is a great way to monitor installations year to year and long term. Is there an easy way to feed statistics from my Victron installation to pvoutput.org. If it is very technical I will need a detailed explanation of the steps. I can't programme. Wasn't sure whether to put this here or in "The Internet of Things".

last night, when grid fell away due to load shedding, Smart Load switched on, even though the solar threshold was set at 2200 watts, although soc was within the parameters set for switching on, this does not happen when grid is present, as both conditions have to be met, anyone else experiencing this behavior.

Hi Everyone I have an Axpert/Kodak MAX OG7.2 Inverter, KODAK FL5.2 Battery unit with 6 x Canadian Solar 330w Panels currently installed and working. I managed to setup the Watchpower app to connect to the Inverter successfully on the day of the install 4 days ago. But now, my Data Log shows offline. I can edit any of the Inverter settings via the Watchpower app, but I cannot see any logged information on the app or online. Any Idea on what may be wrong?

Hi, I'm pretty new to this solar thing. I'm thinking of getting this inverter: RCT Axpert MKSII 5KVA/5KW Inverter 48VDC 4500W 450VDC MPPT But I'm on a budget, so what is the minimum solar array I can hook up to it? And how do I figure that out. I'm under the impression that these types of inverters have a minimum that they need to operate. I won't be using batteries but will by grid tied.

I am getting a steady stream of these. They always start after SOC has reached 100% IE I never get them when the battery is charging. Looking at the history, they stop as PV becomes trivial at around16:00. The temperatures shown range from 31 to 48, so I'm not sure temperature is the driver. Should I worry?

Hi All, I am rather new to the forum and this is my first post. I have a SuSynk 5kW, 48Vdc inverter with lead acid batteries which I recently installed. After start-up I received an alarm/fault code, F56 DC_VoltLow_Fault. The alarm does not want to clear, on the front display panel it is showing the SOC as 73%. I also checked the voltage of the batteries with a multi-meter, 50V. The current battery set-up worked perfectly on a previous Elllies inverter. I am also not sure if it is a battery fault, my logic tells me it will show low battery voltage and why give a constant alarm? If the batteries are low it should only try to charge the batteries and not give a constan…

This relates to the previous question but just from a different angle, if I set the 01 parameter to UTI at 7 pm, charge batteries from 80% to fully charged, then set parameter back to SBU in order to start the next morning, washing machine and so forth with enough power to avoid grid charging, question is, does it matter if I change the parameters regularly or is it bad for the inverter?

Hi All, Weather intervention blew Ethernet Port on my CCGX. Have installed new one, firmware updated, all configs done. Linked new CCGX in VRM under my account and went thru the sequence of replacing CCGX on my existing installation, rebooted CCGX etc - doesn’t seem to have worked New install hasn’t been linked to my old installation and all updates are only showing on the new install, no historical data. The VRM id on my old install looks “odd” in that it has additional explanatory text…? “fxxxxxxxxxxxx - USEDASREPLACEMENT” Anyone have any insights Thanks

Hi, we had a hybrid system installed a couple of weeks ago by an installer. Sunsynk 5kva inverter and I am trying to find out more about how set up the inverter to push excess PV power to the DB board (during the day) to power the geyser for instance. Is there a setting on the inverter or is it an electricians expertise required? The installer wasn't to knowledgeable about this inverter unfortunately and trying to get him back, usual story.
