I am new to this fantastic forum and having recenlty upgraded my years' old solar installation to a more intelligent system, I decided to join to get insights from fellow solar junkies and am seriously impressed by the generous sharing of information here. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I was unable to find a related thread on this forum. I have the Axpert MKS II (5kW) inverter (Mecer brand). This is the one which can take PV voltage up to 450v, thus allowing thinner cables between PV and Inverter. So ... I decided to do a firmware upgrede to the Patched 73.00c found here http://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=67551#p67551 in order to better tune the…

Good time of the day. I can't find similar issue on a forum, probably only so called PV freeze bug could be related. Issue is that after some time of work today, when it was a cloudy and rainy weather with a lot of sun I found inverter shows voltage on PV but 0W . Display shows no DC/AC generation from PV Disconnecting control panel and connecting it back didn't help. I assume I must to disconnect PV array and completely power off inverter in order to verify of this goes away afterwards, but wanted to ask here in case if I miss something. Inverter was working in SBU mode. Switching to any other mode didn't fix the issue. …

I heard the older Axpert 5KVA inverter's life is only about 6 years before they started giving problems. Is that true? Secondly can I install a fan on the side of the Inverters like in the photographs below?

Hi I installed a Deye 8K September 2020, connected to 12 x JA 405w panels and 2x Dyness 3.6Kw batteries. The system was running smoothly with good production (7.24MWh) and Grid sales of 5.34MWh until the 2nd of July 2021. The system is programmed to run from batteries in the evening from 23:00 to 05:30 and the PV to prioritize batteries over load. The DOD is programmed to 35% but seldom go lower than 65-70%. I noticed on the 2nd of July that the 'time of use' function did not switch the load from the grid to the batteries. I checked the settings but everything appeared normal, no alarms were recorded. During the day I also noticed that the production…

I am upgrading my 5kva system that had Axpert 5kva, 12 x Canadian 350w and 2 Huawei 100AH Batteries. I added another similar invertor but i then got 12 Sunpower Panels 350w and another huawei battery 100ah. I need to know if i can connect the two sets of panels each to its own invertor. My installer is saying he can somehow connect all 24 panels to one invertor for charging batteries wc worries me. He has not told me how he plans on achieving this but m just really worried

Hi, can someone explain to me what the “Sol exp bat full” setting does in the Sunsynk 5kW System Mode setting page please? It falls under “Zero Export”, which I have checked (with the CT coil), so do I need to have the above one checked if I want my solar to be exported to my “local grid” non-essentials like geyser and oven after the battery has reached it’s charge limit, or does it do that automatically with the Zero Export checked?

The question exists on a few levels. 1. Practical & pragmatical. 2. Potential compliance/non compliance. 3. Best practices, opinions, whatever. If I built a hypothetical, or existing shed, there would be no db board, just a spike in the ground. Grounding is "fairly" simplistic? There's no ESKOM. Now move that inverter from the bundu to a city house, it's still close to a spike in the ground, but also to a db board. Will it work as per Level 1 Question... to connect my wire to the DB's copper "earth" wires? Note, SANS, switchovers, or whatever else falls outside the scope of simply, "will it work?" Again. Pretend there's no ESKOM. Power has bee…

Hi To everyone familiar with the Sunsynk 8kW inverters, what are their typical noise levels e.g. fans, relays etc? Would they be suitable for installation in an area occupied by people, or would their noise be bothersome / irritating and they be best installed in something like a garage or utility room? Thanks in advance.

Good day What would you guys consider to be the best value for money on inverters around 8kW. I currently have an old Mecer (the 4000W version) and am considering expanding the system. I need to be able to handle a larger load and more solar than 3000W. Current solar capacity is 300W and batteries in use currently are the 2x Pylontech 4.8kWh - these are new and I would probably have to add another one. Regards, Vijen

Hi there, I’ve run into some issues with my inverter and/or batteries, and I’m hoping someone can guide me to where the issue lies, and hopefully how to resolve it. It’s a 3000w Axpert King (SOL-I-AX-3K) with 2x 240Ah Omnipower batteries in series, so a 24v system. Photos attached. I’m not using any solar panels. Everything was purchased (inverter and batteries from different suppliers) and installed in April 2019. I have it connected to my lights and a few select items, so the load ranges from 140w -180w, depending on the time of day. A month or so after it was installed, I did a test run by disconnecting it from utility power, and at …

Hi guys, When the inverter is running from battery/ solar while utility is out,the elevated voltage between neutral and earth goes about 90v ac.I tried to bond them together on the output of the inverter but when I switch back to utility it trips the main earth leakage. any suggestions on how to overcome this? Thank you

Hi All, I nned some advise. I have a Growatt SPF5000ES and I also have 16 - 370Watt solar panels producing a total of 5,920 watts. The specs are as follows Pmax - 370W Vmp - 34.30 Imp - 10.79A Voc - 41.00 Isc - 11.39 I would like to connect the panels 8 in series and 2 in parallel but I see that on the Growatt max panel amperage is 18 amps. Would this be a problem if total amps is 22? Or should I just use 10 panels in series? I would like to use all 16 panels to produce as much as possible. All panels would be roof mounted at 35 degrees facing south.

The Sunsynk 5 kW is rated for 6500 watts of solar panel power, if I go beyond that ( keeping the voltage range within limits ), will the mppt just clip the excess pv ?

Hi everyone. I have a 5kw Axpert inverter with 4x Pylontech US3000's and 4kw of solar panels. The whole house except the stove is running on it. Running now for more than 2 years without any issues and we stayed below 5kw easily. (Base load is about 500w and thus can run two "big" appliances of 2kw simultaneously. Lately we are using more power with working from home, cold weather, etc. and I have set the inverter to "bypass" on overload, so that in the case of someone switching on a kettle and we do exceed 5kw. I have noticed that when at about 3kw and a fridge starts up, it bypasses to grid. It is annoying and now my question: what would happen if the "bypass on overl…

Howdy..so I have this connected to 3 x 370w panels and 2 x 12v Deep Cells. When I run on solar, and with a low load...anything from 200w-400w. .the inverters fans immediately come on at high jet speed. The Inverter can take a max of 600w of solar. They never slow down or switch off. I was hoping to run certain aspects of the house on solar during the day and auto switch to glorious Eiskom during the evening. As the inverter is in the kitchen, this noise is just OTT. Firmware looks like v73. I have read about turning the fans to blow in and not out - but is there a better explanation I should pursue. The unit should have a big warning sticker about the noise! …

Hi All, I have two 7.4 kWh Solar MD lithium batteries installed with a 5kVa Axpert MKS. At the weekend the inverter is now known as Axpert Ai in my control panel. Its was a bit eerie at first as the inverters settings have changed and it is making its own decisions and is dynamic. Its early days yet but the first tests seem to show an improvement in system efficiency. I can chat online at any time to the Solar MD guys from the control panel and I will publish some results. Well done Kayloyan and his team.

Hi All, Anybody experienced this before, I installed a 5kW Deye Hybrid Inverter and is very happy with the operation, got one problem and that is that my stove's clock is running away as soon as the inverter ac is switched on, the stove is still on the grid. Unfortunately the video is to big to attach but clock is just flickering.
