Hi .. anyone with experience on the Sunsynk or Deye 12kw 3 Phase inverter? I have a question: The inverter is rated at 6kw per phase, but up to a max of 12 kw across all three phases. If the feed from the PV is low, and the battery has discharged to 15% (DOD setting at 85%), does the current just automatically pass through the inverter to meet the load? The inverter suggests a 32A breaker in the Grid input to the inverter and a 80A breaker on the output to load (forget about on grid loads - assume that everything is connected). Does this mean that the 32A breaker will trip, if the power draw (when the battery is discharged and the PV is not generati…

Hoping someone out there has some experience with the Kaco Powador 5500 or similar series in the range. Managed to purchase one. Going through the product literature, it actually appears to be a really impressive piece of kit. I would like to install this as a grid tie option but not feedback to the grid. Not entirely sure how to accomplish that and was hoping someone with knowledge on the product can offer advice. The product literature doesn't explicitly mention how to prevent feedback. Seller assured me he didn't feedback and the inverter is capable of preventing export.

My question has been well explained many times but I'm still not getting it. If I have a timer band set for 50% unticked, the system will run on battery until 50% then grid comes in and keeps it at 50%. If I have it ticked at 50% I will run on battery til 50% reached then if battery goes below 50% grid will charge to 50% I don't see any difference, please explain. Also if I want to export only 5 or 10% of the battery when it is at 100% and only if my panels are producing how should I set things? Many thanks

Hi all. I hope someone can help me understand a weird occurrence last night. My Set up. I have a Kodak 5kw hybrid inverter 48v input it is being fed by 4 12v 120 ah gel batteries. When the power went out. in very short order the display on the unit read a very low battery (18%) and shut down. My load was around 230w during the period and the whole set up should have been able to manage a 4 or 5 hour run time, not the 2 hours I got. When all came back online, the watch power app told me I had a EEPROM fault. I have seen else where in the forums that changing settings (to force a re-write to the memory) or flashing the firmware might help…

Hi All, I am trying to run my Grid-Tie side during the day from Solar Produced power and at night only from grid, I never want the Grid-Tie side to use battery power. The reason for this is. I connected my geyser, stove and Aircon to the Grid-Tie side. I have set the Grid Settings System Work Mode settings to Zero Export To CT, then on the System Work Mode I have set the Time of Use function and set my battery to SOC to 45%, keeping 45-10% for possible load shedding. I do not want to export any power to the grid. What happens, at night time or when there is not enough Solar Power during the day, the battery starts discharging to run any load that might appear on the …

Hi guys I have a recently installed Goodwe ES (4.6kw) setup hooked up to 2x Pylontech US3000's. I'm not sure if I've configured anything incorrectly, but the batteries only ever charge up to 80% SOC. Is there something I've configured incorrectly? (As a side question: is there a way to see the potential the panels are generating instead of having them track the load too?)

I recently replaced my 6 year old RCT Axpert 5kw inverter with an Axpert Synapse King 5kw. I made some observations that I do not understand: 1. The fan(s) of the Synapse comes on as soon as loading starts and increase in speed (and noise) as loading increase. The fans of the RCT only came on when the loading has increased to a capped kw. 2. In both the SUB and SBU settings in 02 the Synapse switches/ alternates between solar and battery/utility when battery is fully loaded and the household load is under 100w. Why does it not stay on solar - even when the panels provide enough watts? 3. When the Synapse is charging the battery with solar the fan increase …

I'm stuck regarding wiring inverter to main DB, the inverter is a true hybrid and must connect to main DB only. No need to separate essential and non essential loads. How do I connect earth leakages and changeover switch? Please share a diagram - even handwritten one will be ok. Thanks in advance

Hi, I have 8KW Deye inverter with joined with 8 custom made Lithium batteries without any 3rd party BMS for about 6 months now but recently the inverter started reporting Error F56: DC_Voltage_Low almost everyday between 18H00-20H30 once or twice regularly. At the time of error inverter shuts down electricity supply for about 30 seconds and afterwards normal operation continues. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this issue. could it be the wrong battery settings. Any experts in Johannesburg South (Mondeor) area who can have a look at this installation and recommend/install a 3rd party BMS if needed.

Hi everyone, Just got a new Axpert king, dated April 2021, sold as a Axpert serial number and date sticker match so it seems legitimate, it came with the following firmware: U1 71 97 U2 19 11 U3 88 88 U4 01 10 Bluetooth is not working, but I read on the forum that 88 88 indicates firmware problem, thanks Coulomb 👍 so I'll reflash that at a later date, don't plan on using it anyway, a good example of Voltronics QC 😟 My question is what is the Secondary CPU or display firmware U2 19 11 as I understand the current version is U2 02 66? I have the King hooked up to a Pylontech us2000c and USE is still a better option to PYL using versio…

I have a re-occurring problem with my Goodwe inverter. Although it is set up on general mode, when I wake up in the morning I find the battery to be fully charged which means that during the night instead of the house using power from the battery, the battery is charging from the grid. This happens from time to time and the only way to correct it is to power down the inverter and restart. In February my solar installer arranged to have the firmware reloaded but after 2 months the problem started again. Anybody else has this problem ?

Hi Everyone i discovered something strange while trying to set the battery equalization settings via Watchpower, but i was unable to do so, so i thought to go to the inverter itself and change the program settings via the remote panel, only to discover there is nothing i can change, but i can only cycle through the various outputs of solar/utility/batteries as well as the firmware version of the inverter and panel (all the program settings shown in the manual is not available any more?) i can only change certain setting through watchpower and now i am unable to access the other settings which was available on the panel before.

Hi there all, So i recently got to the point where we were able to get a full on solar installed after some much needed advice from here, thanks so much. As my curse would allow me tho i seem to be one of the few that is experiencing a funky situation where the inverter is pretty much stuck in absorption mode all the time, topping up the batteries from the grid mainly whenever it drains below 100% and because of this the PV is just chilling as well as the entire system seems to be frozen in this kind of bypass mode. The retailer has been an absolute star in trying to help me get it all sorted out, but i thought perhaps i might just put some feelers out there if anyo…

Hi all I need some help with the following setup I am looking at. A bit of history I have 16 320W panels wanted to use to power a solar pump controller to drive my 2.2KW three phase borehole pump. Pump is installed in the river works great with Eskom but is expensive. I installed the panels at my house to keep everything under eye because of theft. I bought a 2.2KW solar pump controller installed it and switched it on. I immediately had a E10 error, over current. Replaced the unit still had the same error. I started investigating and it seems the problem is my cable length from the solar drive to the pump. The cable is 550 meters long. With Eskom and pure sinus wav…

I have been following the discussions around prepaid meters tripping with grid export set to zero, and wondering if anyone has experience with the Conlog BEC23 ED? Is there a setting that prevents this? I see suggestions are up to 100W. Also, is there a difference in the CT clamp direction between Sunsynk and Deye - I have found contradicting advice on the internet.

hi guys, Helping a friend with his solar installation,i am by no means a proffesional, i have a technical background, but not really electrical, but is immensely interested in soalr and its applications.... so please be gentle on me.... i have done a few installations for friends, family, and obviously my own installation, but these was all done using the goodwe inverters. They seems a little easier than the sunsyncin terms of basic wiring and setup, athouhg it seems the sunsync is more flexible, so i am excited, but also want to be sure everyone i helped everything is done properly. i am now installing for a friend, i was hoping someone can help me confirm if…

I have a 5kw mecer Inverter with 4 x 325w panels in series 150v. the issue is the watts from the pv is not feesing constantly to the batteries or the load the volts stays constant at 150v but the wats jumps from 0w to 990w the again and again. why would it do this when there is a constant load and batteries to charge

Hi, Are there any decent 3kw inverters out there have the following criteria? Ideally im looking for an inverter than supplements Eskom during the day, with some battery backup for loadshedding. Ideally I am looking for the following: Wifi or 4g capability for remote monintoring. (its a rental propert and we want to monitor from home for errors etc) Able to mix solar and grid to the house - ie, excess solar is used to supplement eskom Able to tie directly into all circuits on the DB, and when loads exceed 3kw for longish periods, the inverter handles it and perhaps bypass it to the grid Does something like this exists? There would…

I need some help with SMH settings for Axpert inverters. In the 2nd image below: I selected Solar first as the charger priority but just below that it's asking for "Output Mode" I have no idea what this should be. Then all inverters must connect to PV as PV OK? What does this mean? Back to charge voltage? Is this "...voltage pointing back to utility source..." (parameter 12 in the Axpert installation manual). Back to discharge voltage? Is this "...voltage point back to battery mode..." (parameter 13 in the Axpert installation manual). Output voltage ? Options are 220, 230 and 240 volts. I don't see anything in the Axpert manual w…

How can i force the inverter to use more solar (3.5kw available on 1 MPPT) The unit is set to SBU and the two 2.4 pylontechs are set to charge via solar only. It does not seem to use the batteries if there is a shortfall of solar, only if i turn off the utility the system works via the batteries if needed. The system stays in bypass mode 99% of the time. I am going to put in more solar and batteries in the future. I would like to see the system using solar and batteries during peak solar time, say 11 am to 3 pm. Any ideas?
