Water Heating & Pumping

Hi all, I have a 5kw 24v Victron Multiplus which is currently limited to pulling only 3000w from my 5500w panels. I would like to install 2 geysers with each having 2000w elements. My question is, what is the best way of powering 1 geyser ONLY after the other is fully heated. For context, I would like to use a relay off the charge controller or gx device. Also some advice on wiring this would be nice. Also kindly suggest some decent relays that I can use for this purpose. Regards

Hi, I've bought a 2nd hand Enerflow air/water heat pump, unfortunately the whole casing has been painted, so i cannot verify any sort of specifications or model, but it does seem to be a enerflow ERHPSU08E-MS 3kw from what i have narrowed down. as for the generation i'm not sure. Hi all, Planning on purchasing an 8k sunsynk, 2 Hubble 5.5 and an ITS Heatpump. My question is, would it be wise to house all these in the same room (2m * 1.5m big). My assumption is that the heat from the sunsynk will help improve the efficiency of the heat pump. Is that realistic and should I expect any issues? Second question, this outhouse that will host the power equipment and the heat pump is about 8m away from where I would want to place a single big geyser/storage tank for the whole house. I have a Kwikot heat pump (about 6 years old). This comes with a timer that does not directly control mains but sends a signal to the heat pump via a pretty thin cable Also allows me to set temperature Only has three programs which allow programming by time of day but not by day of week. I would like more flexibility in terms of turning the unit on and off. Is this workable? Set the three programs on the timer to always on (on time = off time) Insert a timer switch to switch the mains supply on and off. Got a GeyserWise Max with vacuum tubes installed about 2 weeks ago and have noticed that the element icon flashing after the geyser reaches 55c, but my max is set to 65c. Any ideas or thoughts?

I am considering a retrofit system to my existing 150l kwikot geyser. My geyser was replaced about 18 months ago with Kwikot superline geyser. I noticed before it was installed the superline range as a built in water inlet to be fed by solar. I see them advertised around R11000. This is for vacuum tubes with some kind of controller to circulate water beteen panel and geyser. Is such a system worth fitting? Anyone out there had any experience with one of these retrofit systems and can advise on actual savings? I get a lot of sun on my roof and even in winter I am sure this can warm up my geyser sufficiently during the day. I use about 14kwh per day on average and I suspect…

Hi all, I had an EVT solar geyser installed January 2021 Nd along with it Geyserwise controllers for this and another geyser. Last night around 9pm I started switched on the kitchen (solar) geyser when my wife complained the water was cold. This morning the Geyserwise panel is dead. Consumption on Solarman shows it started momentarily then off. Is this a common occurrence? And best way to fix it? Worth calling the Geyserwise number on the panel?

Looking for a 50L geyser for installation in a cupboard in a flat. I know Kwikot does one but it is 50% more than a 150L geyser. Anything in the R3k range?

Good day, I am looking at using solar panels to power my 3 phase submersible pump. I have spoken to suppliers and it is apparently quite straightforward to adapt the 3 phase AC pump to run of solar panels directly. What I would like to find out is; as the system is now with my current water floe, the pump will run maybe 1 hour each day. Is there some way of using these panels to charge batteries during the times that the pump is not using the power. Trying to save on electricity costs, so I was wondering about this. I have a 750kw 5Amp swimming pool pump. Can I get a 100AH battery, 1000kw Inverter and a 2x 540 Solar Panels to run my swimming pool pump from solar? The idea is that the battery will just act when the pump is starting up, I will set the pump on a timer and only start the pump when their is full sunshine? Thoughts?

Hi, Can anyone advise if its possible to use Low pressure Solar collector tubes to a 400Kpa High Pressure Geyser. i'm not sure on the pressure of the header system, i presume it would be the same as the tubes rating. The geyser does have a extra port for renewable input. I would like to have it installed above the geyser in the roof with a small solar pump. Would the High pressure cause issues? if so is it possible to install pressure regulators on the feed pipes too and from the collector to reduce the pressure? Thanks

My system consits of 20 vacuum tubes heating a small reservoir. The reservoir feeds a standard 150L geyser. The feed is done with a 12v pump which only feeds when the difference in temp is above 4 degrees. A geyser wise kit will do the job. My geyser feeds a 20L variable force feed gas geyser which does need electricity to work. I do it this way to save on gas as the gas geyser can regulate the temperature and use less gas when the geyser is hot and also have a constant temperature. I also have a 2kw heater installed in the geyser and have wired it so that if all fails I can still use the element to heat the water. I do have grid tied inverters an…

Can anyone assist with this absolutely strange problem: Ive had my Atlas 20 liter GAS geyser for a about 4 years. Around 6 months ago I had to change the batteries , used the same brand that was there before, energizer. After a few weeks it stopped working , so I changed them to Duracell. For the last month or so , when I open up the hot water, no ignition, after some fiddling around with it I notice that if I open and close the battery box then I get ignition. So I changed the battery box but still have this issue. any advice on what the problem could be ?

I have a low pressure solar geyser. I have a hot water circulation (circulation only - no on/off switch) pump that I want to install. Does anybody know of a pressure/flow switch that I can use to switch the pump on/off as a tap is opened/closed?

3000 W PTC AC Element - Geyserwise Does anyone here use these PTC elements, this is the first i am hearing of them and they sound somwhat like a gimic (But i guess to people who have lost elements due to no water it might be worth the upgrade).
