Inverters

Off Grid & Grid Tie inverters

  1. Have a MLT Oasis 324 inverter [Grid tied] and the software has become corrupted. Can software be corrected or new software installed? MLT upgraded the software in 2021 to prevent feeding the newly installed pre-paid meter. Matter was not resolved and after a second visit with a new LCD screen fitted the upgrade software is still not working correctly. MLT has not come back with a solution to date. Any solutions available, please?

As a novice in the industry, I just had a 5kW "must " inverter installed. After just 29 days it just died, leaving me now for a week without solar energy. (fighting already for a week for a replacement unit)

  3. Good morning, I have a Growatt 5000 ES connected to 2 PylonTech US3000C batteries communicating through BMS. I have also connected 8 x 540W JA solar panels connected in series. Everything seems to be working properly, but it seems the MPPT is limiting solar power input to 3000W. When more load is required, pulls from solar up to 3000W and takes the rest from battery. My theory is that this is because the maximum charging current is controlled by the batteries's BMS. There doesn't seem to be separate settings to limit the charging current for the batteries and for general solar input. Any confirmation on this theory would be appreciated. Fo…

So I recently got an RCT Axpert VMIII with a Pylontech UP5000 as a UPS for loadshedding. When connected to the grid, the output of the inverter seems normal with 230V between live and neutral, 230V between live and earth and almost 0V between neutral and earth. However, when Eskom cuts out and the inverter is running from the battery, the output changes: 230V between live and neutral (normal), BUT 115V between live and earth and 115V between neutral and earth. Because there is still 230V between live and neutral my appliances seem to be working fine, but I'm not comfortable with a neutral that is not close to earth all the time. I have an earth wire …

Hi everyone, I have a site where I installed a Sunsynk 8kW unit but the conlog prepaid meter keeps tripping when using the none essential output. The CT coil is in the correct place and the inverter is reading it correctly. I have set the grid trickle feed to 50Watts and tried all the way to 1000Watts but the meter keeps tripping. I am on the Sunsynk SA whatsapp group but no real help there except everyone saying the meter might be too sensitive. I have now split the DB and using only the essential load output. Any advice with this Conlog meter please?

Hello everybody When an inverter is said to have a power factor of 0.8 what exactly does it mean. Is this power factor in reference to the load output it can handle or it's in reference to it as a load when connected to a grid supply. Thank you.

I want to upgrade my RCT 3KW VMIII to a 5KW inverter, and looking at MKS3 and MKS4 boxes. The specs seem very similar on MKS3 vs MKS4 (although MKS4 is rated for 5.6KW, and MKS3 at 5KW), and price is quite comparable, so I have two specific questions: Does anyone know any reason why not to get an MKS4? Are Kodak branded inverters comparable in quality to Axpert or RCT? Thanks!

i have a vm3 5.2kva solar inverter, that doesn't star from battery. its main s.p.s was burnt, with the help of the service manual available on the powerforum.co , i repaired the main s.p.s butt it doesn't turn on yet from, although IT TURNS ON FROM SOLAR AND GRID POWER but shows WARNING 32. for that i tried to reflash its firmware but it gets fail. I found that there is NO INPUT TO BOTH REGULATORS 78MO5G AND 7912C. what can be the problem.

  11. I am wondering if anyone has tried this before... I have ICM (new version of ICC) connected to my Axpert King 5K via USB. I have also got Solar Assistant which I have previously connected RS232. Both work independently but when trying to have both connected at the same time today, they Solar Assistant via RS232 keeps on dropping the connection. Has anyone tried similar before? If so, did you have to configure anything? I like the features and functionality of ICM with the better detailed information but from my cell phone for a quick via, Solar Assistant is great, so the idea was to have both

Morning all, First post here after a while of reading topics as a guest. I have a SunSynk 12kw 3 Phase inverter paired with a FreedomWon Home 20/16. Great setup overall, just my OCD wanting more control. Whilst the grid is connected, I have setup the battery to discharge to 75% from 5PM to 5AM and then discharge from 75% to 50% until 9AM. I have also limited the power in the “System Mode” menu to 2000W. I still notice battery discharge above 6000W at times across my essential and non-essential loads which obviously gets it to those limits quickly. So the 2000W setting isn’t controlling it as expected. I would like to consistently draw fr…

I am currently on Protocol Version:V0.2.0.1 and HMI:VC.3.4.A MAIN_1:V3.8.8.0. Are there any benefits in upgrading firmware and Deye support needs to do the upgrade apparently. Also I asked them to enable me to update settings on the app and this was there response: "To modify the parameters, you need to provide your solarman login account and password, and I will authorize you" Has anyone done this?

Hi all, Is there a way to get the inverter to keep my batteries charged 100% without needing to adjust the SOC settings in the system mode screens? For example, I typically let my battery discharge to 30% overnight until 7am, then let the grid charge it to 40% until 9am and then let the panels do their thing until 17:30. That works well for me on a normal day, even stage 2 loadshedding, but today being stage 4 and raining I need to quickly get my batteries charged to 100% from the grid before loadshedding kicks in at 9 and the only way I could figure out was to change the SOC settings to 100% on the system mode 1 screen for this time window. …

Hi guys. In 2017 I installed 2 x 5kw pf=1 Axperts running in parallel. These are PWM solar charge versions though One of them is showing error 09 and I'm thinking to just replace the main board I'd like to just drop in a new board meant for the Kodak OGX 5kw pf=1 Is it really that simple? I'm just concerned about firmware compatibility..

Hello all, I recently upgraded my datalogger firmware via server.growatt.com. All successful, but strangely enough the S/N changed to 0000000000 and this is also the hotspot name it creates. I can see that it is successfully connected to my WiFi and light has a slow blue flash. Problem is that in the ShineWiFi app it shows the signal as excellent, but the connection as lost. Factory reset has not helped. Should I upgrade inverter firmware as well? Anybody ever seen this issue?

Hi everyone 🙂 Congratulations to the forum! Ich have a problem with my inverter. It does not feed into the grid. My config is: Grid Tie with Backup II Sdm630 energymeter Feed back into the grid is checked Reset of the inverter is already done My idea is to upgrade the firmware. I have read about a similar problem with a Mppsolar mpi 5k and the solution was a new firmware. The problem is that Growatt does not support this inverter anymore. The Growatt 5000 HYP is absolutely equal to the Infinisolar 5k plus and the mppsolar mpi 5k. Can I upgrade the firmware from the infinisola…

Hi, my 5kw deye is almost a year old and it worked 100% with us3000C battery canbus comms. I set time of use to use battery power to switch on geyser @ 2am to 4am. System worked fine until I added another pylontech US3000C battery. What I did when adding new battery 1. balanced the new and old battery cells. 2. Made the new us3000c a master @ port 0 3. Changed capacity limits at inverter (charge max 100A) discharge @ 80A and charge @ 80A. Now the time of use doesn't work anymore _ deye inverter pulls from eskom when load exceeds solar production during the day and the batteries don't switch on @ 2am to 4am to heat up geyser. I not sure why the in…

Hi All I am running a Sunsynk 5,5kw with Revov 10,2 KWH battery setup. We have all seen the efficiency claims of inverter's however has anyone actually tested this? For interest I have pasted extract of the Sunsynk spec sheet on efficiency. Max. Efficiency 97.60% MPPT Efficiency 96.50% Euro Efficiency 99.90% I have recently installed the new Sunsynk logger and decided to analyse the results. I have 2 months data so far. (I have two years of data stored on the solarman cloud which I have not yet analysed) Jan 2022 Theoretical load = Import + Discharge + (PV - (export+charge)) 52,7 + 29,9 + (52,4 - (0,1 + 28,1)) = 106,8 …

I've been threatening to install some solar at our place for the last year and am finally ready to pull the trigger. Now the big question that remains - what inverter? For context, my main aim is to bring down the monthly bill (loadshedding forunately isn't an issue) but since I don't have a spinning meter I figure I need to go hybrid. We currently use about 25kWh / day, and I'm guessing this will increase as the kids grow older. Inverter wise I'm torn between an 8kW Sunsynk or 2 x 5kW Growatt's. 2 x 5kW Sunsynks are just a bridge too far ito costing. It's important to me that the inverter be able to use all the available solar, add battery when more power is needed …

  25. Hi everyone - we use 5kw RCT Axpert King inverters together with Hubble AM-2 batteries, and either a connection to mains or a generator (Turner Morris 8500 petrol) via a changeover switch. We are having an issue where our inverters are unable to accept the generator's power (utility power icon just stays flashing). I have read on other topics (see below) that firmware or setting 3 can resolve the issue. I have not attempted the latest firmware as I am not able to access the inverters currently, but what I can confirm is setting 3 (apl / ups mode) is not on the settings list on the removable display. My question is: Will updated firmware "unlock" this setting or can I…
