I have had to disable to zero export when my batteries are below 90% and enable it again once batteries are over 90% otherwise it tends to export the micro inverter power to the grid. The smart load function is used to dump excess power to loads during excess solar production and batteries are over a certain SOC. If batteries fall below the configured SOC, the smart load is turned off. I suggest you watch some of the sunsynk / deye training videos which explain the operation of the inverter. I have been looking at putting up a wind turbine. Would it be possible you think to connect the turbine to the AUX input. Both My MPPT are being used at the moment. I have the 8.8kv inverter
April 9, 20215 yr With regard to the sound of the 8kw inverter. Within 6m you still here it clearly. It switches on and off so no even noice. I will not install it close to me. Spend a little and put it in the garage.

May 13, 20215 yr What are the differences between Solarman Home, Smart and Pro and which is recommended? I am using SM Home on my Sunsynk inverter and the battery info is not correctly displayed. For instance, my comms between the batteries and inverter is correct and its controlled as expected but on the solarman app i only see 1 battery (i have 2) and the temp shows 100C which is definately not the case...

What battery do you have? I have 4 pylontechs and it doesn't read the individual batteries but the data from the BMS. First pic is from Solarman Business and second one from Solarman Smart. I alternate between these two and even though I have pro and home versions I don't use them.

I have 2 Lithium Batteries SA 5.2kW batteries. So far they are performing great and the price/kWh was also very good.
May 20, 20215 yr Hi everybody, I am new to solar and had a 8kw SunSynk installed with 14 x 415w Canadian panels and 3 x 3.6kw Pylontech's as a starting point. So far my batteries is functioning in "Backup Mode", still looking at my usage to see if my battery capacity will be enough to start using the timer for night time. One question I have is regarding exporting power to the grid. Is their a way you can limit the amount of power I can export to the grid instead of everything that is not used by consumption? How do you have it set up and connected? Do you have loads before the inverter (aka non-essential loads) and CT coil correctly installed?

If the inverter is still exporting and your your meter is spinning backwards, then the ct sensor is either not installed or installed incorrectly. You can tick limit to load to only power the essential loads and nothing will go back to the grid or for the stove if it's on.

As @Achmat has stated, if the CT is installed correctly and you tick "limit to loads" it should not export to grid. Ticking Sol Exp Batt Full will only export to grid once batteries have been charged.

I do want to export to grid but I want to limit the amount that are being exported. Is that possible?

You can then tick limit to load but then if you have any excess pv it will not go to the stove when it's being used. Edit. Limit to load will only supply the essential loads even without a CT installed. If you have non essentials then the only way to limit export to only these loads would be to connect the CT sensor. The whole house is on load except for geyser on aux and underfloor heating on grid. I have a few questions regarding how these inverters work.(installer didn't have much experience with these fancy inverters) 1. I switched off the inverter when grid was available and the appliances on load were disconnected. Is this how it should work? 2. I see a lot of posts about neutral earth bonding. Unfortunately I don't understand much about mains electricity. Is there a simple test that I can do with my multimeter to see if I have a problem or whether I will need a relay. 3. My battery is powering the non essential loads on the grid. I have use timer ticked in systems page I don't want this to happen. Is there a way of controlling this without using the aux port? If the inverter is switched off, the loads will be disconnected. You should have a transfer switch before the inverter so that you can switch the loads back to grid if you need to switch the inverter off for maintenance and repairs. 2. On the Solarman app you can check the MPPT current and if it's clipping it will have a flat peak. Pic below is from my array which in summer it gets up to 18A but in winter it barely gets to 10A.
