Dear Power Forum, Hope you will be able to assist us. We have a client near Pretoria with an old 60Amp 4Kw RCT inverter which they would like to monitor on their laptop. The problem is that they have an Apple laptop with NO CD Rom, only a stick, and it DOESN’T read the Watchpower disc which I have transferred onto a stick. Do you have software, on a stick if possible, for an Apple laptop, PLEASE? Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi We have 2 10kW 3Phase Mecer/Infisolar Hybrid inverters connected in parallel. Why does the Master constantly discharging the batteries and the Slave charges the batteries? It is ongoing throughout the day, non-stop. The other question: Why does the Inverters use so much energy from the Grid? If we disconnect the Grid it runs smoothly on the PV and the batteries but as soon as we connect the Grid it takes energy from it?

Hi, My wifi light is blinking indicating that wifi is not connected to the router. I'm looking for the reload button on the inverter but cannot find it where the owners manual indicates it to be. Next to the wifi is a plate with a cable saying "meter". Can someone help? Is it necessary to reload inverter wifi?

Good day everyone, We have a cable fault location unit that uses a Cotek 3000w pure sine wave inverter as power source from 4 x 12v deap cycle batteries connected in 24v configuration for its a 24V inverter. The inverter starts up sometimes and runs fine. Sometimes it starts up and dies after a few seconds. When you switch it off, it has a reset delay of almost 3 minutes before you can switch it on again. (we never had that problem in the past) The unit is about 9 years old and are loaded in the back of a land cruiser. My questions, Where do I send cotek for repairs and/or does the problem sound familiar to those who use cotek …

I could not believe this when I saw it this morning. A big company like Omnipower, selling Re-Branded Infinisolars as their Inverter range. Would have thought they would at least designed/develop their own product, but I guess its easier to re-brand a mass produced, off the shelf unit.

Hi i have another InfiniSolar 10kw installation that works well but.... It does not change to Eskom automatically. Freedom Won battery shows 100% SOC in the morning but when we simulate drop of grid or remove the battery backup, the inverter comes up with an error. It appears not to change over to Eskom automatically. Some direction please?

Hi all, I bought a Mecer 3kVA (24V - 1500W PV) off grid inverter last year and have noticed some odd behaviours. I've currently got the inverter set to SENS(?) where it pulses every second or two and then seems to only switch on if a load of at least 100W is detected. However, I notice it turning itself on for a couple of minutes several times an hour, even with no load and then switching off again. I've also noticed that during the day I'll sometimes hear the relays inside clicking and the battery voltage will start falling, even though the panels are still in full sun. Then after about a minute it clicks again and then starts charging the battery again. …

Hi all, I am trying to read all the data I can get over USB from my Mecer 3kVA (24V - 1500W PV) off grid inverter using Python on a Raspberry. I'm using some modified code that Nikitto wrote a few months back and have a few questions. I seem to get the real-time values using the QPIGS command, but I also wanted to know what the other commands were for, QID, QFLAG, QPI, QMOD? In case I'm missing out on any other data that might be useful. I also notice that if I haven't run the QPIGS command for a while it will time out on the first run, but then if I cancel and rerun it again it works fine. Anyone else notice this? Is there another command I should be calling …

So installing multiplus ii 5000 with 2 pylontech us3000b. Hoping to expand when budget allows to four. Victron manual recommends 200amp fuse (sourced 3p mersen disconnect for this), and 70mm cabling. The pylons come with cabling that seems to be 32mm as far as I can establish. Inverter can run 9000w peak (which at 48v makes 190A if my maths calc is correct one). Hope I never draw that. So some questions Is there is any way to limit the Inverter draw say to 6000w (125a) using software or anyone know about upgrading cabling with pylon connections to ensure they cope,. Or will cables handle that draw which is for a limited time as it is a peak (thoug…

Planning on getting an HP Laser Printer for our home. Datasheet: http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA6-6825EEE&doctype=data sheet&doclang=EN_GB&searchquery=&cc=uk&lc=en Although, it uses 255W while printing, all laser printers have high inrush current at startup (> 3000W). Analysis here; https://www.donrowe.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/laser_printer_startup_surge.pdf Since most of our home outlets are wired with the Inverter output, I'm hesitant to buy a laser printer - especially since Voltronic doesn't have any Surge Power rating for this Inverter on their website. Anyone running (or tried) a Laser Printer off …

Hi guys, I installed my 5.5kW inverter six months ago without solar as i didn't have the panels back then. Everything has been running great as a backup when the grid goes down. I now have connected my 20 x 325Watt solar array to the inverter and my Prepaid meter is tripping every 30 seconds or so. I have also tried to set my inverter to “Grid-Tie with Backup (II)” and un-selected “Allow to feed-in to the grid” The problem is still the same…. When i contacted Conlog this morning they advised me to change to the new pre-paid meter model BEC23(09) range. Has anyone else also had this same problem and tried one of these pre-paid meters?

Thought I mention this. On the 17'th April I bought a 2000W 4G Solis inverter from the power store. After +/- 10 days it finally arrived. Never seen one I opened it and connected it. Documentation said starts from 50V DC. I could not get it going and could net get support. So I China and they showed me I need higher DC voltage on the unit I bought. Put more solar panels in series and voila ces marche. I then tried to get a COC made arrangements and inspection took place. We then could not verify the settings. Tried to get the information from relevant sales and support but the support and knowledge is very bad. Eventually we got it and I reconnect it. So the s…

Hello, I have a 5048-EM and even though it is specifically set to not export to the grid it still does. Right now pretty much everything is going straight back to grid even though there is a set config to not do so, the house is using not even 300w at this moment. After initial setup this did not happen but for the last two days it sends about 3kw constantly based on generation. I have reset this thing and set it up from scratch yet it still does it. I can tell by what my Efergy is reading, and by the SEMS portal information. I have the CT clamp in the correct direction too as it has worked fine in the first two days of being live. …

I have 4X Narada MPG (AGM) 12V 200AH batteries wired up to Infini 10KW for a year now. In my setup, the battery bank reaches 99% capacity (as per inverter display) and stays there, while being continously charged at 2.1A. I thought that was the needed float charge, however, I came across a setting in inverter which allows me to stop the charger if Amps are below certain value for X amount of time. Now I'm confused whether the 2.1A flow charge is needed or not? am I damaging batteries in the long run with continous 2.1A charge? Does anyone know how to do Equalization charge using infini? My current settings:

I have two axpert 5Kva units. Both behave the same. I wish to enable the "power saving mode" (setting #4). If one enters setting mode, scroll down to setting 4, press enter, display flashes "SdS", pressing the up/down arrows beeps but does not change setting to "SEN". Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?

I've at last got some time to really get my system configured, and start using it. In my mind - Update the firmware. It is on "2628430" - so I assume I download the VFF2628459.vff firmware from https://professional.victronenergy.com/downloads/firmware under VE.BUS.../26 - 230.../400 Assistant firmwares. Use VEFlash to update the inverter, with it running from battery (it sucks having to do this from a VM on Mac). Configure it for UPS, while SSEG application is ongoing. I have a general idea what to do with the charger section, but some specific docs on Victron's site would have been great. At least I can use VRM Remote to do this bit.

Hi all I want to get the maximum of the solar power which i am not getting. I have connected 6 x 350w panels in 3 strings of 2 in series and then connected together in parallel and fed to an Axpert MKS 5kw inverter which in turn hooked up to a 3,5 kw pylontech battery I would like to run the load and charge the battery from solar and if solar is not available to run of the grid. it has been running but switching automatically back to grid power although there was over 1kw of solar power available and the battery almost fully charged while the load was very negligible approx 100 - 200w I feel my settings need to be adjusted . on the user sc…

Hi guys, I have a situation where one of the appliances (heat pump) has an inrush current load which causes the inverter to default to mains electricity. I gather that in order to manage this I need an NTC thermistor placed in series, which will then manage the inrush current. However, I am uncertain as to how to determine which thermistor I need and once I have it, how to properly connect it. Is anybody able to shed any light on the subject? Would be much appreciated.
