Inverters

Off Grid & Grid Tie inverters

  1. Yes, this is a strange question 🙂 The electrician is coming tomorrow to connect the inverter DB to the house DB, and at some stage there will be electricity on the AC IN of the inverter. But, the batteries are not yet in place - still busy with the cables and layout of all the bits and pieces. I do not want to make the 70mm2 cable runs too short! Will the inverter survive if it just has 220v on the AC IN, but nothing else connected to it? I assume, even if it is switched on, it won't do anything?

I have aquired a Axpert 3kVA/24V Inverter and a BlueNova BN26V-154-4k Lithium Ferrous Phosphate Battery Getting everyting planned has taken a while and the setup will be completed one I am shure what is needed and I am confident all bases are covered. However I need to keep the battery charged. Can I connect the inverter to the mains and charge the battery without a load or solar attached?

I am an ignorant newby and I need installation advice. I acquired the following: an Axpert 5000 KVa and four 180 A Omni AGM batteries. It came with a small DB inclusive of fuses. Now installation time. I have three phase power. I require the system to power the essentials. Only for load shedding. A few panels can be added later. I intend making slight changes to my main DB wiring so that I have one dedicated circuit to power the Axpert. A plug point will be installed adjacent the Axpert to lead back to the DB. Another to lead to the roof above for future panels. A few more changes to the DB to power the essential items from a few dedicated circuits -…

I HAVE HAD SERIES OF CHALLENGES IN INVERTER REPAIRS, I HAVE PROVIDED SOLUTIONS TO ALL THOSE CHALLENGES EXCEPT WHEN IT INVOLVES A CONTROL BOARD. THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF IT IS THAT YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY PHYSICALLY DAMAGED COMPONENT IN THE FAULTY CONTROL BOARD. NORMALLY, WHAT I DO WHEN THE INVERTER BOARD CONCERNS THE CONTROL BOARD IS TO REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE. IN MY WORKSHOP, I HAVE ABOUT 20 PIECES OF FAULTY CONTROL BOARDS. MY QUESTIONS ARE 1) MUST I KEEP ON REPLACING? 2) IS THE CONTROL BOARD NOT REPAIRABLE? THANKS

  6. Is it possible to raise the high dc cut off on this inverter, when i eqaulise my batteries my inverter cuts out with high dc warning, because it cuts out at 60v and eqaulise are at 64volt

  7. Hello, I'm June from the Philippines. Can anybody help me with my problem. I have a 3 unit Axpert inverter rated 5 KVA connected in parallel. Before i have 2 units connected in parallel but my client decided to add another one so now there is a total of 3 units. Unfortunately the third one is using a different firmware. It is using a firmware version 74 30, the other existing 2 units version 73 00. So when i started the new unit, it started giving alarm. The manufacturer Voltronics sent me a new firmware, frimware 72 61. The manufacturer instructed me to update all the 3 units with this new firmware but after updating the ac output of the 3 units are not sy…

  8. Good day, Are there any issue with running ICC with patched Axpert firmware? I want to update to 72.20e. It seems my inverter does qualify for this update as it is a MKS 5kVA (PF1) with 145VDC max MPPT SCC running on FW v72.20 and I am able to set the absorb voltage to 64v - Is it safe to assume that I will be able to update? I am using ICC and want to know if anyone is running ICC with patched FW? In ICC the charge current is using 10A steps. Is this set dictated by the inverter FW or was it hardcoded into ICC (might have to approach Manie for this question).

  9. I am looking at the manual, but I am not sure if they are referring to total cable length, or distance from the batteries? In my case the total cable run (positive and negative combined) would be around 7.5 meter, or 3.75 meter away from the inverter.

Hi all I get a few over voltage alarms on my set up a few times a week. as a result I've set my Bulk charge and my flout to 52v. I have since discovered my inverters are trying to push 64v into my batteries. Does any one have any advice on this or point me in the right direction. Thanks again

Hi all, I am seeing a curious current pattern when in "float stage" charging with my Axpert King 5kw. When the batteries have been in the float stage for a while (+10-12hrs it seems) and we have plenty of PV there is an oscillation of current on the batteries that dips them negative, then back to positive, etc. It does not seem to do this after dark and with mains only. Is this normal? It's not a cloud issue, no clouds in the sky... See the attached BMV 712 trend graph.

  14. Hi all, I'm new to this forum, so please let me know if I am doing things incorrectly (posting in the wrong place, etc.) I recently purchased this Axpert King 5kW model to replace another 4kW/5kVA solar inverter I bought over a year ago. I installed it recently and everything was wonderful. I have a 3700W PV array with a 600ah@48v battery pack. After about 5 days of use I noticed it wasn't charging my batteries with mains electricity as well, but only with PV. I was 100% sure I had seen it charging them with both after I installed it, but just to make sure I went into the settings to see if I had correctly set setting #16 to allow for both utility and solar charging …

Hi There I have had a Goodwe 5048d-es inverter fitted and very happy with it. My problem is that my house wi-fi is too far and doesn't pick up the inverter. I see there are other ethernet plug points at the bottom but none say it's for internet connectivity . Please advise on how to solve the problem?

Hi guys, I have an ongoing problem with a pair of Axpert inverters that I have had installed and I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction for a solution. The installation was done by an installer but they seem to be as stumped by the problem as anybody else is. The basic details of the installation are as follows: 28 335w Canadian Solar panels in two strings of 14 each. 2x Axpert inverters set up in a "master-slave" relationship. Two x 10.2 kW Revov second life batteries, each with its own BMS. The problem seems to have a pattern which is as follows: Typically the batteries are either fully charged or very close to f…

  17. Hi Guys, some basic design question which must be a common issue for a lot of people. I have a Axpert King 5KW and 14x330w (7p x2s) Canadian solar. So I'm a little overbudget on the max PV input of 4000w. I pointed 10 panels north. later realised I need PV earlier in the morning and later in the day, so added 2panels to the east and 2 west, which helped flatten my yield curve and was definitely worthwhile to do. I'd like to add more panels as I only reach my production limit midday, but the inverted I have has a 4KW PV max input. So the yield would fluctuate during the day from 300w to 3500w depending on clouds etc. So more panels I suppose will always be bett…

Hi I want to run my 2 x PC and printer off 3x300w Canadian Solar panels with pylontech 3000. Will the Mecer Axpert_MKS_PLUS 3000VA / 2400W Plus 48V Hybrid Pure Sine Wave Inverter be able to work out of the box with the pylontech. It appears from reading on the forum that any 48v inverter will work with pylontech but you need external battery monitoring etc - I really dont want more equipment. The 3VA seems to come in the 24v and 48v variety and the prices are in the R6500 region. Im not keen on the 5kw R12000 plus inverters. Any advice, suggestion or alternatives? Thanks in advance

Hi guys, I am installing a Battery backup solution in my house. I want to be able to expand into solar in the near future ( When I get the money to do it) I have an installer who wants to supply me with a 5Kva InfiniSolar Inverter. I have done some research and have found a lot of people raving about the Victron Multiplus II inverter. I just want to ask if anyone has had experience with the Infinisolar Inverter and how it matches up to the Multiplus II. First Post BTW I'm thrilled to be a part of this forum.

  21. We have a Voltronic Inifni 10KW inverter with SNMP web card. The (currently) 5KW solar system was installed on June 10th, 2018 so its almost a year now and I wanted to get an idea of how much energy has been produced. I'm confused by the "Power Statistic" page e.g: - Annual chart shows all the power generated (10,000 KWH) as if it were in 2019 - which is impossible. - Monthly chart, shows all power generation to be in only 3 months - again not possible. - Daily chart seems accurate. Why are the annual/monthly charts Not accurate? Is the inverter not logging data correctly or is this a setting issue? What about "This year" value in the table belo…

Can someone please clarify this contradicting statement. On the Voltronic Power page the indicate that the Axpert VN II can be connected without batteries running from either Grid or Solar. two installers I have spoken to says NO it cannot be done. According to them the only difference between the earlier one and this on is the PV input voltage that was increase to 450v.

Hi, Is it possible to share a 48v AGM battery bank with a GoodWe inverter and Axpert Inverter if I setup the following: Axpert is only for load shedding (and will set charging to only charge from solar) there is no solar so it should not charge the battery. Goodwe has Solar and is going to be in charge of charging the battery. Thanks

Hi Guys, I live in Pakistan where a company called inverex is rebranding the voltronic inverters specially the axpert series. They have named it aerox and made it to work without batteries which I would like to do , I mean run it without batteries and use just solar + utility . My question is about the transfer time or switching time between two power sources like from utility to Solar and from solar to utility The axpert manual says 10ms or 20ms for appliances . Is it the time it takes to switch from utility to solar and from solar to utility ?? If thats the case then is this time OK for 1800BTU inverter based Air Conditioner like I wont feel a …

Hi, I have an axpert king connected to 2 Pylontec 2000US batteries, I have followed all the setting on the forum and from voltronic however the only setting that will not change is program 26 (bulk Charge) the lowest I can go here is 54v, anything lower just resets it back to 56.6 V, Is there any fix you know about ? or does it not matter ? Thanks
