Hi, I'm new to the forum and need some guidance. I've got a CB Solar PV1800 5KVA insatlled, understand this is a rebranded Axpert or Must inverter but struggling to get technical details of the device. I understand Voltronic is the manufacturer of the device? City of Cape Town requires that I register my solar installation, depends who you talk to in the registration team but some rightfully sees this as an off grid system since I can only power the load from Munic supply or from PV/Batteries, I can't combine the two. Others see this as a grid tied system (Frustratingly) because it has an AC input. For the off grid system I'm allowed to haev an auto …

Just got a call from a relative, it would seem as though i am supposed to be an electrical expert ... Anyhow, they have an office... 5 PC's 2 2x Toshiba Studio 2000AC (larg office printer) They are in need of a UPS to run this during load shedding. Which is usually 2-4 hours, but today it is 8hrs (don't ask me why). Does anyone here maybe know of anything?

I have 3 Axpert ( Mecer) 5kva inverters. I want to know if it is possible to connrct each inverter to its own battery pack while the inverters are connected in parallel? My reason for asking, i have 8x 180ah batteries and 4x 200ah batteries. So if possible, i would want to use 4 batteries per inverter in stead of mixing batteries. I have got 20x 150watt panels available for the 3 inverters. Currently the inverters are used as 3 different setups. But i want to combine the 3 in parallel. Thanks. George

HI, I'm trying to design the split of my house circuits and maximise load on the inverter / solar system whilst avoiding overloading and tripping the inverter. Its hard to figure out since load is almost always well under 3Kw, but the heavy load items cause short periods of heavy load. I have some "essential loads" so I'd like to avoid that putting the kettle and dishwasher on together trips off those loads. The easiest would be to operate in grid-tie mode but it doesn't seem cost effective to do that in CoCT land. I've got a question about that that I'll post separately. But how much power can my inverter supply? Headline rating says 3kVA, and …

Hi Guys This looks like a great forum I currently have a 300Watt 24V Amerisolar panel, running to a 50Amp PWM Controller, a 2 000 Watt 24V Pure Sine Wave Inverter and 4 (2 X 2) Energiser 102Ah 12V batteries. Currently powering all my upstairs lights (12V new light put in), the fridge, laptops and TV. Current problem is the cold effects the batteries, so I can get about 30Amps before they go below 24V (14 Degrees) so the fridge cant run the whole night. The Axpert seems to be the solution Here are some questions: I can currently pull a max of 51Amps (Yesterday) by ensuring the solar is fully utilised during the day. 1) Does anyone know how m…

Hi folks! I recently noticed that my Axpert MPPT inverter only reports the charge current/power, and not exactly how much the PVs are producing. So, even in full sun, if the batteries are full, it only reports around 100W of power coming in. This is fine, except for the fact that I wanted to connect a Raspberry PI to it to gather data and have statistics on the production around the year. Any suggestions on how to go around this?

Hi, I installed one of these units yesterday with 2x 102ah 12v Excis batteries. The inverter did initially go into standby mode once the batteries were at a charged level but now runs continuously despite there being no load and charging status indicates that the batteries are charged. Can anyone advise if this is normal or whether the inverter should go into standby mode when no load and batteries are charged. Thanks, Alistair

Good day, One of our clients are looking for an Enphase grid-tie micro inverter. I've heard that they are not currently approved for usage in the South African market. Does anyone have an idea were I will be able to locate an Enphase distributor in South Africa? If available in South Africa_how is their after-sales service? Your help will truly be appreciated.

A colleague wanted my advice on what the best option for a UPS system to bridge load shedding is. I do not have any experience with UPS systems and would appreciate your input. peak load: 2.5kW (for him the kettle is a "need" 😁 ) average load: 300W not interested in solar panels batteries must be maintenance free system must be wife friendly (speak: no need to tinker or monitor)

Good day I have InfiniSolar Super 4kW which has an internal component failure and emailed voltronics for replacement, since they are out of warranty they wants us to purchase the parts but I need to identify the boards inside the inverter because we cannot afford to buy all parts( main board, communication board and dc to dc circuit board). I can't see it on the manual either. can you please help me..

hello ! I installed a brand new RCT / Axpert 1000VA/24V charge controller/inverter about 3 months ago at my home in Durbanville. It ran fine until 2 weeks ago. The charge side works perfectly. The inverter starts perfectly, 232Vac output, but after about 5 sec an internal relay shuts down for 1 sec and then attempts to run again, cycling forever. It's clear to me that internal protection circuit (e.g. temp, over- or under-volts, over-current, etc) is defective. (Out of warranty - originally bought new but from RECTRON.) I have no info other than obvious install/operate leaflet. Can anyone help ? Thanks, Adri ==============================

Hi, What's the standard or best practice on an "essential loads" sub-board when I want to have a changeover switch? I will have the live and neutral coming from the inverter, and a live and neutral coming in from the main supply. Do I take these two inputs first to my changeover switch, and then put a 2 pole 'sub-main-breaker' after that? Or do I breaker each one separately and then take the outputs of those two breakers into the changeover switch? IE (warning, ASCII ART) ----------- FROM MAIN BOARD ---> BREAKER --> | | |Changeover |---> to cct…

Hi this is my first post but have been browsing and learning for some time so thanks to the plethora of information available. Now my silly question: How can i startup a hybrid inverter without batteries present? Can a hybrid like an Axpert MKS for example startup from grid alone? Thanks and criticism is welcome

Hello All, So I have had my axpert syste for coming onto a year now. I am a little concerned about my settings and what the right settings are. My configuration is as follows: 2x Axpert 5kva 9x Rene solar 300 4x sonic 250ah running at 48v Some pics of how I put it all together are attached too: Could someone please confirm my setting. I'm concerned I'm destroying my damn nice batteries as my bulk charge never seems to get to 57.6v. But rather seems to stay at the float level of 54v. Is this normal? system set to UPS mode float 54v bulk charge 57,6v charge amps at 50amps and charge from solar only.

Hello everyone I'm happy I've found this forum. I've seen plenty of people happily helping each other patiently with pretty technical stuff. I need some help with Programming my Axpert VM II 5KVA Inverter which was installed 2 weeks ago but I've felt the engineer wasn't used to such inverter and I'm worried the system isn't well programmed. I've been reading quite a lot lately, yet, I don't like to reach to conclusions or take actions without supervision or guidance from well informed and experienced engineers/technicians. Here are some info about the system: 6 * 330 Watts Suntech Panels (Connected in Series) Axpert VM II 5KVA 48v Invert…

Hi I have two Axpert 5K in verters set up in parallel using grid power to charge the batteries and rely on this in the event of load shedding. My question is that only the slave is putting out power and when it get to 4Kva it overlaods, however the master inverter only puts out 44V? Is this a setting I have wrong? Can somebody please help me "shed some light on the matter"

Good day, i need some help with my Axpert ( mecer) 5kva inverters please. The change over between escom and panels or batteries has become slow. So much so that the lights switch on and of during change overs. I read that the inverters can be updated, but no idea how to do it. I have got a serial cable and Watchpower on my laptop. Thanks George

So today I installed a new 5KVa Axpert. It connects to the plugs and lights (on EL) via a SF2P-63A which separates Grid power from Inverter power Now for a strange one: Everything was working fine before load shedding with the ACDC 2 pole change over working like a charm. Load shedding came and 3.5hrs later we were back to Grid power. Switched change over back to Grid and all fine. Switched power on to charge Inverter and all fine. 10 Minutes later EL tripped - no problem switched all circuits off. Will not reset. Change over to all off (middle position) EL resets. Switch to Grid power and EL trips immediately even with all breakers down…

I have a solar backup system with the blue Goodwe inverter at home in Woodmead, Johannesburg. I'm not happy with the service received from the installer. I've had someone else check our system and they recommend new lithium ion batteries to replace our old lead batteries. They are battling to work with the blue model and say their supplier can't support the blue ones. Seems to install new batteries settings need to be changed on the inverter and they can't do this. Would appreciate it if anyone could recommend someone who could help with this. Thanks Gregg

Hi all, We just got our new solar panels installed (9x330W), including a (Mecer-branded) Axpert 5KVA and a 48V Pylontech battery. To monitor the system and be able to switch battery/grid based on real SoC of the battery, I installed ICC on a raspberry Pi and connected it to the Pylontech and the inverter. It all seems to be working reasonably well. My question is - what is the best way to power the Pi? It seems silly to have to plug in a USB charger into a power outlet somewhere and connect it when the Pi is literally next to a battery and an inverter. Has anybody found a way to power it from the inverter or from the battery directly? …

Hi, I see that after our power came back my inverter doesn't want to go back to grid, presumably bwcause I'm getting such a low voltage: I suppose it is wait it out? Got plenty of battery left.
