Hi community My inverter outputs a pure sine wave ( or so it says) . My motherboard has packed in so I'm wondering if the solar power has caused this , other than normal wear and tear. Would it be a safer bet to use a UPS to regulate the voltage or is there a better way ?

The SDK is available, which I have downloaded, but I do not know how to install it or point the program to the right bits. Google seems to focus on IT gurus. Good day. I have my data logger connected via a WiFi extender. My issue is if I disconnect my router of my extender even for a short period then my logger won't reconnect. I then need to reconnect to the same SSID using the same password even if it shows connected. Any help or advice please.

Hello there I have an Axpert VM3 5KVA inverter installed, with 4kw PV panels and 7kwh Pylontech lithium batteries. I'm keen to get some monitoring software running via a Raspberry Pi. I believe there are a few options for the monitoring software, with varying pricing and features. My main question though is how do I even get the inverter connected to my home WiFi/ethernet network? I don't think these inverters can be directly connected with RJ45 ethernet from inverter directly to my switch or Raspberry Pi. I'm wanting to get off of my current DSTV satellite package and instead start streaming. For some services that interest us (Eg BritBox) there is an app installed on my TV. My concern is F1. F1 TV is available in SA, and not too expensive, but they don't give you an app for a smart TV. You get an app that runs on IOS, Android or on Roku, or you can watch in a browser (OK, certain browsers) on a PC. My laptop is getting on in years now and doesn't have an HDMI output, so I can't simply plug that into the TV. You can use Chromecast to get the picture from your phone/PC etc to a TV. The things is this: It remains an issue throughout the house - how much is the system generating and how much remains in the batteries? While i'm quite stoked with the operation it has currently, i'd like to take a bit more hands on control of when the battery stops discharging, PVs prioritize the charging, etc. Maybe i'm being picky, but myself and the mrs have some ideas on how we would best want the thing to operate to work best for us in terms of cutting savings for our routine and then also having a balance of being ready for a sudden substation failure, which is popular around here when it rains. Current setup (but about to change..): Pylontech UP2500 batteries (4) Studer HP4400 inverter Midnight solar classic charge controller I have designed plug in modules (using ESP8266 WiFi SOC devices) for the Pylontech and Midnight charge controller and a power control system to run the system. Messaging is via a cloud MQTT server - no Raspberry PI or PC involved! Details (a bit outdated but not much) of the Power Control system at www.powercontrol.es - I thought about commercializing it but still not sure. The app runs on Android.

Hi All I upgraded my ICC to version 2.7.3 This morning (03-04-2019) and immediately noticed that the PVwatts does not measure correctly and possibly the battery Watts too. Has any one else experienced this or know of a fix? Attached is the screen shots. The ICC software is running great now, as is the RPi unit and VNC. Just a question on the temps of the ICC RPi unit bought through Centurion Solar, so assuming their standard case type - mine averages 62C (from the ICC display) in a room with ambient temp of about 23C - is this temp a bit high for prolonged use or is it normal for the Pi? I printed a basic fan stand for a 12v 60mm maglev fan on the weekend to hold the Pi unit (unit sits on top so cool air blows from beneath and out through the side holes) - hacked an old 5v cellphone charger to power the fan at 5v for the moment, so it turns enough to cool but not make too much of a noise - it has bought the RPi…
