Inverters

Off Grid & Grid Tie inverters

  1. Hi everyone When looking at the output on my inverter, it seems it is drawing power from the batteries even when there is enough solar and utility power is also available? i have looked at every setting there is, but it doesn't seem to make a difference - any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, Does anybody knows fan size (e.g., 92mm x 25mm/38mm) or (e.g., 80mm x 25mm/38mm) for the Axpert MAX II 11 KW? Or if anyone has this inverter, and is able to provide a picture for the fan, it will be helpful to identify the model/size. Thank you

Greetings., Any recommendations for some one / some place who can fix a dead Synapse 5.0K+ / Axpert King in Jhb area relatively quickly? it apparently just stopped working, no magic smoke or wiff of blown electronics. Not responding to mains or battery input. Thanks in advance. (I did search the forums and could not see anything)

  8. Hi Everyone Please could someone help with the issue im having. I have an Axpert MKS4 with three UP5000 batteries. Everything connected with com cable so BMS controls the charging current. Im trying to lower the max AC change current to 30A. I have a smaller breaker and the BMS sometimes takes it up to 120A. Every time i change the setting it changes it straight back. How do i get this max AC charging current to stay without removing the com cable and setting up manually. I dont want to void the battery warranty and if the com cable is removed isnt the warranty void? thanks

  9. Hi all with the current loadshedding situation, I have noticed that my incoming AC voltage is bouncing around all over the place. It on a regular basis goes up to 240V and sometimes even close to 245V. I have now installed a 'smart' 63A breaker between my incoming mains and the rest of my DB board to be able to cut my Eskom feed. During the day I have more than sufficient PV to be off-grid. So am contemplating of programming a timer on that breaker to separate myself from the grid during the day and have my inverter feed 'clean' power to my house. Any downsides to this? And what voltage should I set the inverter to? The standard 230V? Or somethin…

I have a 5kW Deye inverter, with my geyser and oven on the non-essential side. I have ticked "Zero Export To CT" and my understanding is that if there is then excess PV it will go to the non-essential side if required. Is this correct? At the moment it looks like the oven is also using battery when we use it, is this the normal mode of operation? Ideally I would not want the non-essential side to use battery power.

After researching this highly complex topic for many hours, I am still sitting with the most basic of question. Really have to think of how to put this question. Basically, what determines inverter size for an on grid situation? The way I understand it. grid on: The inverter, solar supply dependent, will only supply to the max of its rating. Rest comes from grid. No risk of tripping? grid off: Here is the problem. While there is solar generation, does the inverter supply non essentials? If yes, is the max it can supply its rating? ie A 5KW inverter can only supply 5KW even if I generate 8KW of solar. Does it trip if I ask for more, like putting an…

Hi all, not sure how it happened but I thought I would just let you know that my refresh rate has now changed from 5 minutes down to 1 minute. not sure if this was an auto update of sorts or if my installer made any changes but nonetheless, happy that its more frequent updates.

Hi folks, As per the screen shot, are these temps in the acceptable range? The inverter is indoors with a ceiling extractor fan.

  14. Hi. Anyone that can advice on cheap name brand inverter and battery. This is only to power cameras during load shedding and owner don't want to pay too much.

Is there anyway to clear a setup that was done for a 8kw Sunsynk. I did setup in workshop and when I installed the system at the client and wanted to move the plant over to the clients wifi deleted the plant by mistake. Now when I try to setup again I get "bound" message. I am unable to unbind. Please help?

Yesterday, I had warning message #07 (AC INPUT ISLAND) on my INFINISOLAR 5kw inverter? According to the user manual, this warning event refers to ISLAND DETECT, and the description says ISLAND OPERATION IS DETECTED? No further information is provided? No recommended action is given either? Has anyone had this warning message before? If so, can someone shed a little more light on this? The inverter is set to NOT ALLOW feed into the grid, and an ANTI-ISLANDING protection device is installed. This unit has not detected and REVERSE POWERFLOW?

Hi all, I have a Mecer inverter, bought about 7 years ago, and a new battery, a month old. The battery is working fine and rarely drops below 66% during load shedding. However, at 2am Friday morning, the was no load shedding at the time, the inverter switched over to battery feed and for 5 min and then it switched back to mains feed. But then after about 30 seconds it switched back to battery feed. This cycle repeated until switched it off. I was not an issue with the electricity supply because no other appliances were affected. Next morning, at a decent hour, I unplugged everything checked the cables, plugged it back in and it ran fine until 3pm then s…

  20. Started by JacquesVDM,

My neighbour recently installed a Sunsynk inverter and having a look at his app, there is something not making sense. He is using maximum PV power for the whole day and I see there is Feed-on power of 8.7kwh which I can't seem to see where it is going. He has not used anything on the non-essential side and all I can think of is that it is going back into the grid?

Hi, I have a new 8kw Sunsynk inverter and have some questions about the way the system "Program Charge / Discharge Times Page" works. I have read the manual and this thread, but am still a little confused. Using the screenshot/setup from that thread: Questions relating to a time during the night when there is no PV being generated. What happens when the battery reaches the given SOC, does the inverter just stop supplying power? Take row 1, does it mean between 01:00 and 05:00 the battery is allowed to deplete until 80% SOC and then the inverter stops supplying power? If one had "Grid" ticked on row 1, once 80% SOC is re…

Can anyone advise. On a Kodak off grid inverter. Is there a setting to insure it does not feed back to the grid when your home is on a pre-paid meter system.

Hi all, Excuse my ignorance, I Have a Growatt inverter and NEnergy battery. The inverter does recognise the battery as Lithium and defaults to AGM. Is it a problem if I leave it as AGM and not Lithium? My next step is to the get supplier to change the battery to a Shoto or Pylontech. Appreciate your feedback. Thanks

  24. Hi, could I have some advice please? In the example screen-shot below, while solar is sufficient to supply the AC load and charge the battery. the grid is also supplying an unnecessary 38W. Is there any way to prevent this? Thanks.

Hello So did my first 5kw and the frequency noise that is coming from the inverter is huge! The inverter is in the garage and the cable run to the DB in the house. I feel now the frequency is also coming through the AC lines to the DB and can be heard in the house. Is there a way to put a filter or something to help this ?
