Good morning I have 4 x 100AH Ritar Lead carbon batteries powering my Victron Multiplus 3000. No solar at present, so it is just a huge UPS for the house. I connected a Raspberry Pi as a Venus device, and find it great to be able to monitor the system. Whenever there is an outage (load-shedding), I notice that the battery voltage drops from 54 volt to 49 in approx. 15 minutes. After this it remains at around 49 volts (dropping slightly) for the duration of a typical 2 hour load-shedding event. I'm wondering if this is normal lead-carbon behavior. My guess is the 'capacitor' component of the battery discharges very quickly, and then it behaves …

I have a 5.5 kw solar system with a goodwe inverter and pylon batteries 7 kw... i can use different settings: or discharge the batteries every night to 60% of their capacity, or keep the batteries full at 100% all the time. wonder what the best option is?

It's a 48v power inverter and charger. Would run it with 4x 12v battery, but would upgrade as I learn. Is there anyone here that has any type of helpful information on this inverter. I can not find anything on it. Regards ANY FORM OF HELP IS APPRECIATED

Installed an Axpert MkII 5kVA Inverter with 2 x Plylontech US2000 batteries and an ICC system - no solar panels. System is to be used as a load shedding power back-up. The batteries have never discharged (besides limited testing after installation) yet the master Pylontech keeps on giving an error - the red alarm light comes on. There is no error on the slave battery. The error disappears when turning the batteries on and off by pressing the on/off switch. If I press the SW button, nothing happens. The error then re-appears a day or so later. Battery values programmed in the inverter is as recommended on this forum. Any idea why?

Hi all, Is there an issue with mounting Pylontech batteries vertically with a mount similar to the one attached? I have 2 x us2000 batteries that I want to mount and would prefer the vertical mount of possible? Takes up less space and would be neater. Would the be any warranty/guarantee issues? Evening. Hoping for some advice, having searched and come up blank. i have 2 X 190AH Lead Acid Batteries 12 NDT-190 Narada. After lockdown, around 3 weeks back, we found a wrotten egg smell in the office. We found the one battery had leaked a little acid. I removed them from the trolley and took them home to check on a smart charger. They both reached 100% indication within 5 minutes. What would possibly have caused this and is it safe to put them back into service? They were lying on their side in the trolley for as long as they have been in service. Appreciate the help.

Hi Initially I bought four US 2000 batteries in a cabinet and have now expanded by adding four US 3000's, which are working perfectly. I have now bought a cabinet for the 3000's but the distance between the terminals of the top battery in the bottom cabinet to those of the bottom battery in the top cabinet is more that the length of the connecting cables. However, if I remove the feet of the top cabinet I can get the terminals close enough to connect the batteries if I do it "straight up" rather than diagonally, as per the manual. Will it be OK if I connected my batteries as per the image below?

Hi All, I am looking at switching to lithium ion batteries for my system, this to replace my current lead acids that are not performing properly and some are finished. Where do I dispose of them and are they worth anything? See the attached pics. Thanks Regards Robert

Can someone please help....! My system seems to short on overnight power very often... We are 2 people in house, average size, 2 fridges, 2 ouside led's, normal on standby ie DSTV and routers and cellphone chargers etc, and 1 panel wall heater (600w), we watch tv from about 18h15 till about 20h30, sometimes use an oven set to 70 degC to dry rusks through the night (which kicks in for about 5 mins every 40 mins using 1200 w), and use a geyser (200l) in the mornings from 05h30 to 06h45 (on timer). On my ICC etc, this amounts to approximately 12- 14 Kwh of battery usage yet the systems ends at 13% and jumps to Utility.... My problem is that I struggle to get through…

I have 2 x Axpert 5kVA MkII inverters in parallel with 24 x 380W PV panels an ICC and Pylontech US3000 batteries. Started off with 4 batteries and the system ran perfectly showing SOC as "Full" fairly early each morning when the batteries were fully charged. I recently added another 4 batteries (now 8 in total). The system still runs fine and the ICC sees all 8 batteries but the SOC maxes out at 98.88%. It never shows "Full" on the ICC as per the previous set-up with only 4 batteries. When the SOC reaches this 98.88% level the ICC also indicates that the batteries are no longer charging. Any idea why this would be? Is it a problem?

I've spent most of today reading through various threads on the subject. I think as a last resort I'd want to avoid purchasing a BMV since my load is fairly consistent. After the first test I have some questions though, I'm starting to question the health of my batteries. Hey guys, Just finished our Pylontech US3000 install on a Goodwe inverter. What SOC do these batteries ship with? Ours was at 50% - would've thought for extended "storage" (or shipping from factory) one wants it charged up to a higher SOC?

Hi all, I have been keen to get going witha proper back up system and as usual just got started with it and never really planned/ costed it out properly. So i have installed new db so far and split the essential from non-essential loads. Essential loads is all lights (all LED globes), fridge, Tv and two routers. Already have 1 x Kodak OGX 5.48 (5kw, 48v) ready to be installed. So i was just quickly (haha) going to buy 2 or 3 x Pylontech US 3000's with a cabinet and be done, right? Hi everyone I have recently installed a 10kWh Revov battery, a Sunsynk inverter and 3.3kw solar panels. I am trying the get the most of the battery and solar during the day, while still having enough battery backup left for load shedding and power failures when they happened. I'm managing the power as follows (currently working on Voltage settings, so a bit tricky): From 4:00 to 9:00 the battery discharges to approximately 80%. From 9:00 to 15:00 the battery charges back up to 90% on holds at that % using solar only. From 15:00 to 17:00 the battery charges back to 100% using solar only. From 17:00 to about 4:00 the battery stays at 100% …

i have a 3kva Synapse inverter 4 100ah vision batteries series connected in series parallel. i have a victron battery balancer it is basically a load shedding solution so batteries have not been discharged in 2 months suddenly i have an alarm on my battery balancer the one bank is higher than the other the one battery with positive terminal going to the inverter gets warm , Also the batteries are only 4 months old but bought of the facebook sellers so no warranty does this mean one I gotta replace one ?

Hello all, Goodwe system now running since three months - very happy. Finally took the plunge and bought a Pylontech battery yesterday - a single US3000. The optional brackets are quite pricey and to my mind don't serve much purpose unless you're paralleling a few batteries... For a single Pylon: Is such a bracket necessary? Possibly for cooling, but surely same could be achieved by appropriate placement (mounting) of the battery? A certain supplier tried to sell me a cabinet, saying that the battery warranty is void if not mounted in the cabinet. I walked straight out of that store, but that got me thinking Pylon may actually void the war…

Hi, Does anyone have experience with these batteries? I want to find out about the maximum slaves the master battery can control. I know the spec sheet says 8 batteries in total but then the local supplier says the maximum is 1 master and 3 slaves. Then there is this installation video that shows how to do the install from the beginning to the end, and the last option leaves to opening ended by titling it setting for multiple e-kwbe. I want to know if I can do 1 master and 4 slaves basically using the setup of (5,5) for the master and then (3,2);(3,3);(3,4);(3,5)

My 4 pylontech 2400 setup is now about 26 months running. So we had a power outage two days ago for about 10 hours. Today, by chance, I took the door off to see how dusty the inside is. I then found one battery in alarm mode with a low soc. The other three batteries were normal. I switch it off and on, red light switched off but the soc persisted. I isolated the other batteries to test the amps and volts to find the volts are fine but it shows one green light with the 2nd one flashing as if it was charging. I fiddled with the inverter to get it to run on the one battery and it was running fine until it tripped on one green soc light. Measuring the volts it was 5…

I have a Goodwe ES 4.6 inverter installed as of the 5th of June. It is connected to 8x 1150K lead-acid batteries that are 3 years old and 8x 365w panels. The batteries were tested under load by the installer and they were barely in the green. The current configuration allows for 20% discharge on the batteries and reserves 30% for loadshedding. DOD is set to 50%. We had a power failure from around 12:25 until 17:00 today. Solar carried most of the load with the batteries being used when necessary. SOC maximum was 93% today (83% yesterday). Hi everyone, I started finding a couple of weeks ago that my batteries were getting quite low overnight. Each battery is 102Ah 12V lead acid deep cycle with the full bank 408Ah 24V. I took the following readings from them at 11pm one night and assigned a letter to the top left of each battery. The L voltages are while under a light 2amp load and the U voltages were after I disconnected and waited a couple of minutes. I am thinking of changing the settings of my Axpert inverter so that it can charge my lithium ion batteries at very low current (say 2 Amps) at night. Will the batteries go bad as a result?

I have an issue that I m not very pleased about. I have an Axpert running off Pylontech and using the Centurion Solar ICC. There is also a PV array to supplement power during the day. The problem is that the Raspberry Pi 3 reboots constantly at an extreme rate and rarely shows a ICC Runtime of more than 6 hours. When I compare this setup to the one Centurion Solar uses on their web site as a demo (Link Below) I see that system's ICC Runtime is at least 144 hours. I have a silly question, Can anyone advise me if a pylontech battery can be used without the use of the communication CAN cable, I’m thinking of upgrading my existing gel batteries to pylontech batteries if it is possible. Can the inverter just be configured on the 05-battery type to USE setting and than changing of the charging settings to pylontech needs without using the comms on pylontech, or am i opening a can of worms and should rather just stick to gel batteries? Any advise appreciated.

Does anyone have any experience with the Growatt settings on Shoto 48v m14’s. I have 2x 4.8kw batteries in USE setting on my Growatt inverter.I assume they are 16s batteries. I’ve set bulk to 54.8v and float to 54.2v. Back to grid at 48 and back to battery at 52v. This gives me about 6kw from the 9.6kw bank. If I set back to grid at 47.5, I get a low voltage alarm on the batteries Has anyone had better success with user setting on these. I’m told a comm cable is in the pipeline but I’m not holding my breath
