Morning guys, I have installed a Voltec MKS 5KVA Inverter (Axpert) as a backup (No Solar) The batter is a Pylontech US200 2.4Kw I have used the settings as what is recommended for the combination being Program 02 -20 Program 05 - USE Program 12 - 48V Program 13- 51V Program 26 - 53.2V Program 29 - 47.5V The problem: The inverter sees the battery is fully charged, the Battery SOC (Indicator LEDS) shows full. During power failure, the inverter shows loads to be 270Watts. After 20 minutes, the Inverter gives low battery warning of (04) Please help. I think these settings maybe too conserva…

  4. Great Monitor with Bluetooth feature. Can I run my Optimate 6 smart charger's negative/ground through the negative of the Victron Shunt.. or.. Should I rather keep it connected to the Battery Negative Terminal directly? Have a 100ah 12V Lead Crystal + Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller MPPT 75/15 hooked up. still got my training wheels on! LOL. Simple little "portable" battery bank setup so nothing complicated really. Thanks!

  5. Hi all. I have the following setup: 16 x 275W Canadian Solar 1x Mecer Axpert MKS II 4x Pylontech US2000 Plus (1 year old) 2x Pylontech US2000 (new) 1x ICC from centurion Solar Once I installed the additional batteries, the ICC failed to show the battery SOC, Battery Volts, Battery Amps, & Battery Temp. But on the inverter it showed that the batteries were charging. When the batteries were checked, the 2 newest ones showed that they were charging (solid light), with the older 4 on standby (1 flash). Assuming this was the systems way of getting the SOC in balance for all 6. When I checked the monitoring side though, the problem …

Im looking for 200ah AGM/Gel batteries for my inverter. Can someone recommend some good, reliable brands i can buy locally online with high duty cycles. Also whats the difference between AGM,Gel and AGM Gel batteries?Which are the best?

Hi Forum Could someone please point me to the right discussion on how to balance pylontech batteries. I did see a post here somewhere but I cant find it now. I have just commissioned my new system, with 4 x pylontech us3000, and I'm getting an over voltage alarm after bulk charging them 88%. they are currently on absorption mode now. I suspect its because the cells are not balanced? when I look at the actual physical batteries, I can see the lights on some have a higher SOC than others. Many thanks

I recently added an additional two pylontech batteries to my existing stack of four. I noticed over the last few days that the charge jumps from 88% to 100% within a minute. The discharge seems fine though This has been going on since i installed the new Batteries. I added the batteries as specified ex: 1) Existing batteries should be around 80% charge 2) New batteries should be added to the top of the stack 3) Allow re-balance The existing batteries was around 86% when i added the new stack, i believe the new batteries come charged at 80%. I am just worried that there might be something wrong with the new batteries, or there migh…

  12. Hi there. I'm new here, and this is my first time trying to fix my Ilife V7S pro vacuum cleaner battery. Hi Everyone, I bought 2x of these batteries from The Solar Shop (online) a while back. The shop turns out to be dodgy, can't get hold of anyone to sort out my issues. My inverter keeps on showing battery low but yet when Eskom goes out we do have power. My inverter supplier doesn't know the brand. My Kodak King 5kva inverters have a setting for Pylontech batteries so thinking if taking the knock (again!) and buy those but my current ones are 4.8kw as far as I know so 3.5 pylontech would seem like a power backup downgrade. First prize is figuring out the current batteries and getting them sorted. Anyone have experience, and in Johannesburg area?

  15. Good day everybody. I'm looking for old laptop battery packs in the Cape Town area. I would really appreciate some help as after some phone calls and some googling i was left empty handed. Groete Nico-Merwe

Hi, I have a small 650va Eaton ups. I use this to power the TV, decoder and WiFi routers during load shedding. The standard 7ah battery is on its way out. It used to power this setup for 30 minutes plus, but now barely last a minute. Could I replace the battery with a Bluenova or Freedom 12v lithium battery of the same or larger capacity. They sells these as drop in replacements for alarms, ups's etc. This would obviously use the internal charing circuit of the ups/alarm. Would this work optimal or would the voltages be too far out of wack?

Hi All. I have had a Mecer 4kW/5kVA inverter with 4x 200Ahr Vision batteries for a few years. I have recently added 3kW of solar and am trying to save as much on my electricity bill as possible. The solar is ample to run the load (Av 750W) during the day as well as charge batteries if required. When solar drops to insignificant values I let the system run of the batteries until 49V and then switch to utility to run load. My system is set to charge from solar only and load priority is also set to solar. I am finding that the system can run loads until around 9pm before switching back to utility at night and that batteries are charged before 11am every day so available…

  19. Good day Connecting Pylon tech to 2 or more inverters(parallel or 3 phase) Do you connect each inverter to a separate Pylon battery or all inverters to one battery bank? Latter how do you deal with pylon 100a max output? Seems kinda useless having only 100a DC input on 15kw inverer setup?

Hi guys. I have some oldish silver calcium 200Ah solar batteries in a bank. 2 of them were overheating so I decided to unseal them, by removing the covering sticker, and top them up with distilled water. Unfortunately one of the bottles I had bought was contaminated, I'm not sure with what, it started foaming out the top of the cell like washing up liquid. Thinking of draining that cell and refilling - does anyone know the specs of what should go in there?? Or what other curative measures I could try? And while I'm here, any ideas why 2 out of my 4 batteries would overheat and the other 2 not? Many thanks

  21. Hi forum fundies .... I'm new to the game and still figuring things out. I have an Azpert 5Kva Inverter, tied into the grid (no soloar) with 4x 12V 400W CSB Batteries (HRL 12399W) connected to give me a 48V system. My current load sits at around 15% - 18%. Its main purpose it to run my home based office during load shedding - so its mainly computers connected. The way my inverter has been connected to the DB board has been to isolate the home office and all the lights in the house so that at night we can have some light. Only the plugs inthe office are connected. There is no geyser or aircon or fridge. So my question ... how long (number of hours) should m…
