Hi all I've a question/statement, I have 48v 100ah battery x 5 and they don’t come with comms link to inverter. Unfortunately my inverter a solis 4g doesn’t work the battery without the comms link between the battery and inverter. Can I retro fit a comms link to one battery to act as master. The reason I’m doing this is because the inverter is already installed and I had a good deal on the batteries, well I thought so upto the time I tried to hook it up. If there’s no comms link between the batteries and the inverter it just won’t work. Can someone please help me. I’m lost at this. thanks all

Hello! I would greatly appreciate some more established advice on my situation. I have three devices to run from UPS power during Stage 1-4 loadshedding. D-Link DSL-2750U (12V, 1A), TP-Link Archer C20 (9V, 0.6A), Raycore CPE (Not 100% sure about model but believe the PSU is also 9V, 06A) I have a Mecer ME-650-VU (Rated at 360W max output) UPS. It has a single 12V, 7AH battery. I do not know how much power the UPS subsystems use to monitor and power itself, but I (hopefully over-) guesstimated no more than 12 Watt. I have 3x US2000B pylons. and i will probably add another 3 in June. I see that the inverter i got accepts 38-66V so do i need to connect these three batteries in parallel to stay within that limit? This also means i am gonna run at around 150A for just three batteries and if i am going to connect three more i am going to sit at around 300A. This too me sounds a bit scary. but non the less. What is the best way to connect the batteries in parallel? Looking at my image below the positive from battery three to the buzbar is seems net longer than battery 1 to buzbar. Will this cause an uneven charge? Is there a better way to connect this, or is this standard?

Can anybody help me with setting of my Kodak inverter to match the 2 x 3kW Schubart batteries. I understand that the Kodak OG5.48 is based on the popular Aspect Inverter and the set up is simmilar. Unfortunatly not much information is available from the suppier of the batteries. Your help would be appriciated.

Hello i have 2 x 240ah omni power batteries. They are brand new. Was working 100% was getting 12 hours on them. I am not running solar just eskom power that charge it. I use a 712 bmv to monitor. Recently the batteries is dropping voltage really fast i cant be on for a hour and the system shutsdown. Also my inverter is acting strange it goes into this error state but the batteries is not even at 21v cut off then the inverter goes to red light and shuts everything down. Please see screenshots below. must i change anything on inverter from bulk charging or the float charge? This feels almost to me the batteries does not get charged properly. Hello I have 2 omni power 240ah batteries with a bmv 712 that measure the midpoint of the batteries. When my batteries discharge and they reach 79% the alarm for midpoint goes off and the midpoint reading sits on 0.70%. My batteries is permanently connected to utility power. What is wrong? and how can i test that the batteries is fine and that the metrics on the bmv is not wrong?

I just ordered a SINGLE Pylontech battery for a VM iii, ordered the cable pack also, I am confused, is the cable pack for hooking the battery to the inverter or to link up with up to another battery and also there is a note in the description that you need another cable for CAN communications, where do I get that cable

Hi guys, I have a Victron Quattro mated to Canadian Solar panels and some second life LifePo4 batteries with their own BMS' supplied with the batteries. The batteries are in two banks of a nominal 180 amp hours each (one bank is in fact about 200 amp hours), connected in parallel. Using the Victron Remote Control interface, DVCC allows one to set a maximum charge current. I am getting conflicting advice as to whether a maximum charge current should be used with these batteries and if so, what that maximum charge current should be. I have been told anything between 120 A and 60 A. Yet reading online, it seems that there is no need to limit the charge current. Is …

I am busy with setting up a basic inverter battery backup system. I want to use cells to create my own battery bank. If I connect 2 same cells in parralel, each cell with 0.5C discarge rating. Does the rating now increase to 1C?

Hi There I currently have a Goodwe GW5048D-ES inverter with 4x US3000B Pylontech batteries connected. I would like to add another 2x US3000B Pylontech batteries (and possibly later another 2x). Would this be ok since I noticed in the PV Master app that the selection of Pylontech US3000B batteries only goes up to 4x ? If it would be ok do I need to change any settings manually in the PV Master app ? Thank you

Hi All I am new to the forum and I was wondering whether you could assist me. Has anyone experienced the situation where the SOC on your Lithium battery is gradually dropping? I have a 48v 100ah Narada Lithium battery that used to be connected to a Mecer Axpert 5kva inverter. The problem started when I changed inverters to a new Sunsynk 5KW variant. The Narada battery is not one of the batteries compatible with the Sunsynk using a RJ45 cable link to interface the battery management system on the inverter. Hey guys, Our DIY solar install is coming along very nicely! Goodwe 4.6 2.5kwp on the roof Pylontech 3000 (unfortunately didn't get it before the country ran out of stock, but installing everything so as to make this a quick add once we get one). Goodwe and sub-DBs are being installed in the garage - from the garage it's a double brick drill straight into the kitchen cupboard of a flatlet. Flatlet is not being used / kitchen cupboards are empty. I would like to do it this way so as to keep the expensive battery out of sight and safer (the garage itself isn't particularly secure, already bit worried about the inverter being stolen). if i have 4x 100 AH batteries in series connected to the axpert 5kva 48volt inverter should i set the charge rate at 10 amps ( 10 %)? or if i connect another 4 in parallel then i can double it to 20 amps? its First national batteries sold as Bosch/Excel also if i want to connect a battery monitor to the inverter and once SOC is 50 % then the inverter must switch back to eskom. theres no solar connected and its used for load shedding thanks in advance

Hi everyone, so I have absolutely no background in inverters and electrical work. I have a Mecer inverter connected to 4 batteries. I'm not sure of the make but the whole system was bought from Ellies in March 2019. The system worked perfectly even lasting 18 hours at one stage. But since January of this year, it would only last 2 hours of loadshedding. An electrician came out and tested the batteries and they were all perfect but when loadshedding hit the next day, same it died within 2 hours. It isn't overloaded at all but now it's not lasting the normal 18 hours. He even added 2 more batteries to see if it would help. Any idea why the system isn't last…

I suspect my previous post on this topic was too confusing, maybe I will do better this time. When the sun is up and there is PV to spare my batteries can receive 2kw with no problems. So they charge nice and quickly - in UPS mode or in general mode (Goodwe inverter). Yet if I put the system into UPS mode in the evening, all the battery gets is a measly 400w. Charging from grid then can take a long time, even though the house (with geyser and pool pump off) is drawing only 300 to 400 W. Surely there is room for a lot more power to be fed into the battery? But no.... 400W (nearly exactly, and with hardly any fluctuation) is what the batteries get. Why? And is this…

Hi, Had my Goodwe GW5048D-ES running now for some years with 6.5kw of PV and 450AH of Lead Acid battery backup. End of last year changed to 4 x Pylontech US3000 as the old batteries was dead. To enable the Pylontech to work correctly, I had to update the firmware to 1151508. Only now I start to notice there is a 4.6kw limitation on the PV side since the upgrade. I used to get over 5.5 kw on some days. Anybody else have similar issues?

With prices souring and availability on the decline, I was wondering what the limitations of the old reliable 12V 7AH could be. I have heard that there is a limit of 3 parallel strings of batteries. I know that the cycle limit of the 7AH will not be great, but at R5,000 for 8 x 48v strings yielding a 50AH it could be an option. with monthly checks of the batteries to insure consistent charging. Replacing a few 7ah batteries every year is cheap enough. We all want omni's or pylontech, but at the moment beggers can't be choosers... Just wanted to know if it is a viable temporary solution.

I have 8x of these batteries (3 years old but were floated at 99% all the time) as of today and would like to know how to best use them to counter load shedding. From what I've read they're not made for solar, but I'd like to future-proof in case I decide to add solar panels later.
