all, wondering if you can provide some insight. I have the above mentioned battery with a horrible Mecer IVMS 1200MPPT Inverter that "supports" lithium batteries. I set the cut off to 10.8v as recommend by the manual on the box, sadly this morning I had to jump the battery to wake it up as the inverter didn't do its job. As much as I hate this inverter, it does the job. However I've been recommended not to set the charging to 25amps as it will "blow/pop" the inverter. I notice the float is set to 13.6 but the OSD on the inverter shows 13.3. Should I set the battery cut off to 11.8 or so? Additionally at 10 amps, it takes more approx 16 hours to charge (accordin…

I hope this comes in to SA at a good price for the home diy market looking for a simple robust "small" loadshedding solution. And hopefully the cleva guvment folks will revise their stupid rules to allow these units like they did with similar systems in europe. This can open a whole new market and help eksdom with their demand side load reduction targets in a big way.

I have a problem with the appearance of error signal 32 on the Infinisolar device, version 4.5.6. I sent it to be examined by a specialist, and he told me that there are no any problem with the electronic components of the device.

Hi guys If any of you are familiar with the SunSynk / Deye range of inverters you will surely have come across the fact that while grid suppply is available they have a constant draw from the grid of around 200w which i figure is the power used to keeo the inverter on. I consider this a bit of a design flaw and dont understand why they cant use PV power during the day as there own power source. It doesn't display on the inverter as a load (grid power in will read 0w (or around 20w depending on how much you have your zero export power set to) but a clamp meter on the incoming supply will tell you a different story. Now, when the invertee switches to island …

If I remember correctly I got a CD with my Mecer Inverter, but now 5 years later with a new computer without CD Rom, how can I get to my MECER settings? I bought a new Lithium battery. Do I need to adjust the settings?

Dear all, I own a system of three EASun ISolar SMII 5kw inverter (identical to MPP Solar PIP-5048MG and others) running in 3 Phase mode. Each of them is connected to 9 solar panels, 1 string to the west and 2 strings to the south. What I discover is, that espcially during cloudy dark winter days, one is producing much less power than the other two. All are running on the same software and to avoid issues with the solar panels, I swapped the both strings to the south but the behaviour remains the same. As you can see, the proplematic inverter is sticking to the 120V while the others ramp up to the optimal voltage around ~315V. On the picture below you can see: …

First of all I need to say I am a pensioner basically living from hand to mouth. Say I only want a decent hybrid inverter with no solar panels to be recharged from the grid. I have two fridges a large chest freezer, a microwave and kettle connected to plugs. I have a TV and a MiBox and Open View Decoder, a computer with Wi-Fi and Fibre Modems and Six Backup Drives which are only in operation when being accessed. I also have a Fishpond Pump that is Echo Friendly and runs at .45 KW normally but runs at .75 KW for ten minutes after start up. I would ideally like the two fridges, chest freezer and Fishpond Pump to be isolated and only run on grid power. 1:- Can the…

I've been running a Kodak OG5.6 KW (MKS IV) with a Pylontech UP5000 for a few months now, and zero issues. Today, I plugged in a new UP5000, which I plan to run in parallel with the existing one. The weird thing is that after 5 minutes of charging my new battery at high current (50A), my inverter changed it's "max charge" setting (02) to 20A, and I am unable to change it back. On the control panel, it appears happy to accept my previous max charge current (50A), but this has no effect, and when I go back in a 2nd time to alter that setting, it's back at 20A. I'm unable to make it higher or lower - it's locked at 20A. I'm using the BMS cable, and it's on the…

Please help. They installed our Luxpower inverter but the electrician does not know this brand. Now problem is that the inverter runs only from the battery, once battery is depleted, it charges it from eskom until 100 % and when charged it uses again the battery. It does nog switch over to only eskom once power is on to use inverter as the reserve. How can we fix it

Hi, Sorry, this is a bit "War & Peace". I just got a GoodWe SBP G2 (5000) here in Australia to allow me to export battery to the grid and also charge the battery from grid, it works, sort of... I have ten Zenaji Aeon batteries (400AH), LTO chemistry, the ten of them can easily support 380A continuous. Minimum voltage is 42.5v and maximum I use is 55v. The BMS on these is internal, no comms bus, if they detect an issue they trip their breakers. I also have MPP inverters (two paralleled 5048MG) they supply the house load and charge the batteries from solar. In addition I have a Growatt that I use for solar export only, I switch my panels to t…

I have 2x SPF5000ES inverters with 2x 5.1 LBSA LifePo4 batteries with Solar Assistant managing my inverters as well as batteries via RS232/485 cable and has been working great. After a recent outage where the batteries were completely drained a few times due to cable faults directly after loadshedding, the batteries will refuse to charge to 100% SOC. It reaches the absorption voltage at 56V and goes back to 54V which would indicate that the battery is full but it will not go to 100% SOC. It seems to get to 80% and sometimes to 86% or 89% was the highest SOC reading. I checked the batteries and there are no errors and even Solar Assistant shows battery state of health as 1…

I use Solar Assistant to monitor my 5KW DEYE Inverter, CFE5100S 5kw battery & 5x450w panels. Solar Assistant works fine for monitoring but I am having some issues with the Inverter/battery setup and am busy lining up assistance from CFE and DEYE. In order to facilitate this assistance I need to ensure that both battery and inverter are directly accessible via the internet for troubleshooting and/or firmware updating etc. I appear to be winning with what app to use and how I will get the CFE batteries connected. I am not yet winning on the DEYE front. Can anyone give me a steer as to what app/method is best for direct connection to the DEYE inverter? An…

Hi all. Hoping for some guidance. I have had a Luxpower SNV5000 installed for a couple of months now, and it has worked almost flawlessly. However, the last 2 weeks an issue has risen its head once loadshedding is over and Eskom power comes back in. As soon as power comes back, the 63A breaker that was installed after the inverter trips. Switching the breaker back on restores electricity to the house immediately, it doesn't trip again, until after the next loadshed. Nothing in the system was changed, and no new equipment added in the house. So it is strange that it just started out of nowhere, and also that it doesn't trip again when switched on again. Any advic…

Good Day, Around the beginning of March we had a Sunsynk 5kW Hybrid inverter installed with a 5K Hubble battery. For some reason, whatever system SOC settings I enter, after about 20 minutes (sometimes less/sometimes more), the first 2 time slots revert to 20% and "gen" is ticked, along with a bunch of arbitrary time slots that make no sense. I am pressing "OK", and "Lock Out All Changes" is unticked. The inverter has been back to Segen Solar in CT, and also spent 3 weeks at Sunsynk (both claim everything to be 100%), yet the issue persists. My system has only worked for around 5 days out of the last 6 - 8 weeks, and is driving me insane.…

Other than Victron does anyone else make a reasonably priced 24v NRS certified inverter Given I already have a 24v battery and don't need more as long as I am grid connected a 24v NRS inverter would make great sense for me

I am a pensioner and was away in hospital when they stole all my solar panels, ran out of elec and battery drained. Battery locked and and went in to be reset. Got the battery back this afternoon and now the inverter does nothing t want to start up. It keeps flashing as per the video. Hopefully someone will be able to advise. The inverter is a mecer 5kw 48v model number sol-l-am-5m. The battery is a Hubble am2 VID_20230817_182208~3.mp4

I have a Luxpower SNA 5000 on my house, with 7.4kw of Lithium batteries and 3.6kW of solar. Professionally installed over a year ago with COC. House is about 40 years old and electrics are ok but not updated. Still old school samite breakers etc. Had an issue about 6 months ago with earth leakage tripping when grid comes back. To clarify we were powered from battery throughout load shedding but then went dark when it came back. I replaced the EL with a new DIN one and it never recurred. A few weeks ago I bought a new home theatre system. Not a Game special but the stuff you get from specialised shops. Within a day the amp went into protection mode an…

Hi guys. I have an axpert type inverter MKS-3KVA that recently has a 09 "Bus soft start fail". Can anyone recommend a good repair shop in Durban that can identify which components failed and repair? I had it checked at PSS however they say it cannot be fixed because there are a lot of components that failed and cant be changed. They did not tell me which board had the failed components and quoted me for a new inverter instead. I'd like to get a second opinion. Please let me know where I could find a good repair centre in Durban. With regards to the fault code "09 - Bus soft start failed", is it most of the time caused by failed mosfets and capacitors? If it is due to…

Greetings Experts, I have picked up an observation from two different inverter systems. We noticed when the inverter switch over to utility grid either based on soc or time base the system double consumption unless one mark a hard change over switch and turn off input power to the inverter before the power normalise. We now perform and experiment using a meter logger attached to main utility input to measure load consumption as a control experiment. Here are the steps below with snap shot Here is my dashboard with Grid Watts .. currently running on battery and solar mode meaning zero power draw from utility . You see Grid voltage and frequen…

HI everyone. I have a strange issue which I am experiencing on a new installation. I have had a recent firmware update and this has not resolved the issue. The ticket I posted is below and wonder if anyone else has had issues with Sol-Ark / Sunsynk / Deye time clocks, the issue is worse if set to manual. I am amazed there is no way of using solar assistant or similar to set an alternative time source so i can set a local clock or similar and change the interval of update, e.g not through the sunsynk app to change region servers. I have tested the local network and everything else syncs to time servers without issue, this is going to make the prod…
