Problem: I have a Kodak OG7.2 off grid and 2 x old 5Kw inverters on standby. The two 5Kw inverters have no problem with my 12Kw 3 Phase diesel gen when connected to one phase. The Kodak does not work with my 12Kw on one phase. I also have a 5Kw silent diesel gen that does not work and even a 6Kw petrol gen. The kodak is full of 💩 when it comes to generator supply. I know the AVR's on the generators is the reason, but I am not going to buy a R100K generator just because the kodak throws its toys when I connect a gen. Plan A: I am looking for a 48V charger to charge 6x pylon US3000C batteries from a old diesel generator(12KW 380V three phase). Any suggestions? Pl…

Hi everyone when using watchpower to enable the battery equalization setting, i get an error when the battery type is set to AGM, but i get no error (setting successful) when the battery type is set to "FLOODED" - why is that? i am using Elite Lead Acid Batteries ( 4 X 80AH) thanks

Hi, I have recently installed 2 Pylontech batteries. They work fine except that 2 green lights remain on, on each battery all the time. Yesterday was very cloudy so the batteries hardly charged. The 2 lights were on last thing last night and first thing this morning. During the night I seem to be drawing all my power from the National Grid. My question is that the 4 lights equate to about 33% of the total capacity which is not used. Is this a fault or do the batteries retain a third of their capacity as a buffer ? Thanks for any tips.

Since the newer ICC software (2.4.3 and 2.4.4) has been used, each Pylontech battery values could be read independently. I have noticed the last 2 days (using the batteries every night) that batteries number 1, 2 and 3 discharge almost at the same rate, but that battery number 4 is discharced at least 20% more than the other 3. Is that normal and is there something I can do about it? I will try and take a picture tomorrow when it is discharged to a SOC of between 35% and 40%. The current picture indicates fully charged batteries. This is how they are set up at the moment.

So I left lead acid 2 months ago and got a hubble installed. Yesterday I noticed that the Sunsynk is showing an error code F58 bms communication fault. I can't find any further details on the web. Do I take it up with hubble? Sunsynk? Or the supplier?

Hi guys So for those using Pylontech, supplied cables to connect the Pylontech battery to the inverter is 25m2's... So connection options are, connect battery/MPPT directly to Terminal lugs on Inverter or connect Battery/MPPT and Inverter to a Buzz bar... ok this is not the question though. Between my panel combiner box and the MPPT my sparky asked that we install a dual pole isolator, now ... the question... hehehe are you connecting the batteries directly to the Inverter or Buzz bar, or are you installing a inline fuze and quick disconnect ? G

I have not touched any settings thus far since the installation a couple of months ago, and everything is working great, but wanted to get some advice for optimal settings to get the most out of my 2 batteries everyday, while also making sure they are handled with care for the long term. I am sure there is a good balanced setting setup, or at least get a couple of suggestions to consider?

Hi guys. So I recently encountered a issue. Or at least I hope it’s not a issue. The Cut Out voltage is 42v DC. This communication is received from the bms on the battery. At a SOC of 67%, the battery voltage only reads 46.14 DC. I have the discharge set to max of 50% during the night. But at 50% SOC the battery reads about 44v DC. Is this it supposed to be higher? Do I need to be concerned? Is this normal? My Father has 3x 3.4kwh PylonTech US3500C batteries on his 8kw Deye inverter. At a SOC of 47% it reads 49.35v DC. Only using this as a reference.

I'm monitoring ( on line via the Victron VRM portal ) a friends Freedom Won / Quattro / Victron MPPT installation and am noticing how the Freedom Wons cells are getting more and more unbalanced. At 100% full charge the max cell voltage is 3.77V with a cell max- min difference of 0.41V - Average was 3.40V . At the bottom end at 10% SOC ( only ever been below 40% once in the last 2 years due to loadshedding ) min cell voltage was 2.56V and cell max-min was 0.66V - avg was 3.16V. Is there a utility to manually initialise a cell balance routine ? How are you supposed to rebalance the Freedom Won if the internal balancer is loosing control?

Hi, I found some Python3 code at PhotovoltaikForum.com for accessing Pylon battery data using the RS485 port. (Pretty sure it will work on RS232 console port too - but this code uses the native Pylon protocol rather than the pylon_dbg> commands. I'm sorry to say but the documentation for the Hubble Lithium batteries is so bad! I'm looking for the correct info on which terminal to use when only a single battery is connected to an inverter. Can someone who knows, please confirm, the terminals marked in yellow are the correct one for a single battery? I'm just guessing at the moment based on their parallel connectivity diagram. And also, where is the ground/earth terminal on this battery?

Hi All, New to the inverter and battery world and would just like to confirm the below with some of the experts on here. The SOC gets to 100% and then drops off to 99%, I have read that this is normal behavior for the Hubble. My concern is that it constantly draws +-33W even after having left it to charge for 2 days. Is the normal? 33W is not much but with Lithium chemistry I'm sure no floating is needed. Battery never gets to 53.6 V Hope to hear from other AM2 owners. Thanks Don

I have 3 x ESM-48100a1 batteries connected to a 10kva system. The batteries keep switching off all together which cut my invertors off and i lose power. I cant seem to figure out why. Maybe i am draining too much since i did not connect the BMSs. I have tried to find a build-out resistor but had no luck, would also love to know if i can make one or do the connection without it.

okay since the different battery brands/vendors out there are now getting competitive, started wondering whether it would be possible to mix/parallel different battery brands to a battery bank (provided chemistry/architecture is same)? or are we really locked in to the brand we initially bought? for example say i got an existing hubble, and want to add a pylontech/bluenova.. is it a matter of just connecting them to the bank/busbar? sure they will each have their own bms, and will not necessarily be able to comm with each other. also only the one bms will be able to communicate with the inverter...

I am using a single Dyness B3 with RCT 8kw inverter. Can someone please advise me what is a sensible cut off voltage for this battery. Also need advise on a sensible back to grid voltage. That will sustain battery for as long as possible but still keep me within warranty parameters. Thanking you in advance

My Goodwe 4850ES inverter has been installed about a month ago. I have 2 us3000c pylontech batteries connected and 10 x JA Solar 385W Mono MBB Percium Half-Cell panels. All is working exceptionally good for us expect when the DOD is reached. It is set at 90%. Normally we do not reach the DOD because our batteries have about 25% left before there is enough sun in the morning to charge the batteries again. The problem comes when the previous day was cloudy and rainy and the batteries only charges to about 55%. During the early morning hours when the 90% DOD is reached the batteries switch off. It used to be in standby mode but not lately. Now it switches off and nothin…

Hi community, I've read that typical and acceptable DoD for a Lithium battery is around 80%. I'm considering changing my configuration to a DoD of around 65%-70% of my 5kWh battery to optimize the time I spend drawing from the grid. Any gotchas I need to be aware of?

I have an idea but not sure if its safe to do so. I have 5 Pylontech modules(1xUS3000C & 4xUS2000). They work very well. I recently installed more PV panels to attain more amps to charge the batteries as in winter it was struggling with my previous single array. I now have 6kw of PV power and can roughly translate to 120A of battery charging on a good day in summer. My batteries will take up to 137A based on the BMS values but i doubt my PV will be able to deliver that much. My concern is that the Pylontech cable pack that is supplied with these batteries are not rated high enough for this constant current while charging. From what I read, its rated at 120…
